I am wondering,if there is any 80's dance clubs anymore.I love going dancing and my favorate club was a milwaukee club, friday night is eighties night, they play industrail, punk, dance, new wave, and older rap(rapper's delight),I loved it,and it was only one in milwaukee.I went there recently and there was hardly anyone there, almost empty.
I was wondering if there is a demand for something like that anywhere and where are they?
I go to clubs that play exactly the same stuff. Are you getting that where you are.top 40's rap( and they are naughty lyrics) It's everywhere.

Well I didn’t exactly grow up in the 80’s (23 years old) but i am still passionate about my 80’s!! I have TONS of 80s artists in my I-Pod like The Smiths, Depeche Mode, New Order, The Cure and many many more.. Not exactly sure why I relate to this type of music so much but the lyrical content is amazing even though some of the melodies maybe out dated it is still better then the garbage that is on the radio!!
I remember when I was a little girl and totally in love with New Kids On The Block. Wow, the other day, I found some New Kids pins, comic book, and other fan club membership memorabilia. I also found a picture taken at my FIRST New Kids On The Block Concert. It was at Six Flags Over St. Louis and I remember it like it was yesterday! My parents didn't always have alot of money to let me go to things like that, but that year they let me go, along with me, my mom, my brother, 2 of my sisters, my neice, and my nephew. I remember mom had made me a tee shirt, gosh, do you remember those puff paints that you could write on a tee shirt and then iron it and it would puff out? Yeah, my tee shirt she made me said, "New Kids On The Block" on the front and "Hangin' Tough" on the back. I also had a pair of New Kids On The Block material shoes done with the same puff paint. Wow...lol.
So, now New Kids are back together and of coarse I've been listening to "Summer Time" like crazy. My 7 year old daughter, Destiny is now hooked on the song. All day today she was singing it around the house, so cute, huh? I caught her singing it one time tonight and I smiled at her and she said, "What, Mom?" I said, "Nothing." She said, "Yeah, I think they are hot and cute too, Mom." I just laughed and said, "Oh, you do, huh?" "Yeah," she said. I told her about New Kids On The Block being in concert on November 10 in St. Louis and how my mom took me to see them when I was a little girl. So needless to say, my daughter is begging for me to take her to see them in November.
Currently I am a single mom who is laid off of work and I'm not sure for how long. Work doesn't seem to be picking up. So, I've started my own mission for me to take Destiny to her FIRST New Kids On The Block concert like my mom did for me. I've listed items and will continue to list items to sell on Ebay until I have enough money in my paypal account to take Destiny to the concert. If you are interested in purchasing anything then please feel free to look at the items I have listed. Thanks So Much For Reading This And Taking The Time To Look At My Items!
If you need a cheeky pal to walk the beat with you, let me introduce Po Po the hip hop sock cop! You can have your very own OOAK original Rockford red heeled.
Digging around a junky old shed at an estate sale I found this Steppenwolf Poster? Sign? THING. It is cardboard, has the Monster album cover art on the front. The back is all over covered with black and white phycadelic op-art. NOT the same as the art on the back of the album. The piece measures 14 1/2 x 14 1/2", at largest point (Large rounded corners) and 13 x 13" across center. This whole item is sealed in clear, thick plastic that has holes for hanging in each corner. Husband thinks it may be an advert from a record store. I can email a photo. s.jandreau@cox.net. No plans to sell except thru a legit ebay auction. I would like to know what it is in case I decide to auction it. Thanks in advance, rockers.
I love collecting obscure 80's songs. I'm talking good songs that had little if any radio or mtv exposure. For example, Billy Rankin-Baby Come Back, Planet P- Why Me, Espionage-The Sound of Breaking Hearts, Hughes/Thrall-The Look in Your Eyes, The Little Heroes-Bon Voyage, Nine Ways to Win-Close to You, Eddie Jobson/Zinc-Green Face,Del Fuegos-Don't Run Wild and many others. One of my favorite obscure 80's releases was a 1981 self-titled album, "Visitors" on Montage records. If anyone else knows of this, do you know if they ever had any other albums?
I have a "best of" CD of Nick Heyward and Haircut 100, Talk Talk's History Revisited CD, and Depeche Mode's Playing the Angel CD, up for bid ending in a couple days, if anyone is interested. Just click on my name and they're listed on my eBay page.
The first two have been played once and are in beautiful condition. The Depeche Mode CD is brand-new, still sealed in its original wrapping.
Is it bad Neighborhood Etiquette to post if you've put up some related items to sell? I'm new to Neighborhoods, just joined my first ones, and I haven't found yet where this is addressed. I would think it might be bad form to post saying, Hey, I got some items up for bid, check 'em out, LOL, but it also seems practical to get the word out to people who would be interested in the items. (In this instance, it would be 80s New Wave music items.) So can anyone answer this for me, please? I really don't want to be rude to my new Neighbors. *G* (Then again, they have a box under here for "Related eBay Auction Item Numbers. Hmm...)
