Anybody know a good company to handle several antique furniture items purchased at an estate sale? Need to move some items to a home in Michigan and others to home in Florida.
Shanxi Province is situated in the middle of the Yellow River valley. Its location west of the Taihang Mountains gives the province its name, Shanxi, meaning "west of the mountain." We find this region of China to be rich in history and over 25+ years we have established many long lasting friendships within the community. Antiques are gathered at a fair price and are still accessible, although antiques are becoming increasing scarce. Famous spots include the Yungang Caves at Datong City in the north, Wutai Mountain, a sacred place of Buddhism in the central part, and the falls at Hukou in the south, the only waterfall on the Yellow River.
The province also encompasses the country's largest temple of martial valor – the Guan Yu Shrine at Xiezhou – and one of the four large whispering buildings in China, the Yingying Pagoda of Pujiu Temple in Yongji County.
Statistics show that Shanxi now preserves a total of 31,401 unmovable cultural relics of different kinds. They comprise 2,639 ruins of ancient monuments, 1,666 ancient graves, 18,118 old buildings and memorial structures of historic interest, 300 grottoes and temples, 360 sites bearing ancient vertebrate fossils, 6,852 sites with stone inscriptions and 1,466 old revolutionary sites and memorial buildings.
There are 12,345 painted sculptures in these old buildings and memorial structures of historic interest and 26,751 square meters of murals in old temples. Therefore, the province has broad prospects for developing tourism based on its rich cultural relics to make it a pillar sector of the economy. We carefully and respectfully gather items that are generally 100+ years old. Most are in original condition and are cleaned with minimal restoration. All items are antique unless otherwise noted. We provide objects at the best wholesale prices possible. We have begun to establish a select group of designers and retailers that resale these items on average of 4-600%, based on location and clientle.
I aquired an antique rocking chair from my grandfather about 15 years ago. The back is a carved gargoyle head with wings. The armrests have lion/gargoyle head on them and it is a very dark stained wood. I have asked several antique buffs, seached all over the internet and any books I can find on antique chairs and I have never seen anything like it. Anyone ever seen anything like this or have any suggestions as to how to find out more info? I will keep it in the family, but would like to know some history. Thanks!
I have a very old piece of furniture a make up vanity table with chair and the chair still has the original cloth on it. Where can I find the company or any thing about this piece?
I am trying to find furniture made by A. D. Deemer furniture and tables. This was my Great Great grandfathers company. I have not been able to locate any of the peices. Good morning....I just took some pics of a vanity (I think that is what it is!) that I just purchased for my bathroom and would love to post them but can't see how on here. Any help? My questions on the item are possibly the approximate age or era, and whether I should have the veneers "restored"....this item is in fantastic condition with the exception of some breakage on the veneers. I want to leave it in it's antique condition (I mean that I don't want to refinish or paint it), but would want to do something with the broken veneers. Any info would be appreciated, and instructions on how to post a pic?? LuAnne
Does anyone know what the company C M Co is? (or possibly M C Co)
I have a mantel in my house that I just ripped out. On the back there is a sticker that has a bunch of info from the maker. The logo on top has the letters C M Co. They are written in a crest that has an eagle behind it. My house was built in the 1920s and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. Anybody have any ideas about what the company is?

I just acquired a complete bedroom set made by the Lea furniture company for Disney in 1981. It is the Magic Kingdom Collection. I think it is really rare and am unable to find any info online about it to estimate the value. The set includes the full size 4 post bed, dresser, and desk with hutch, all solid wood with magic kingdom castle drawer liners. Anyone know anything about this set? Thank you.
I have a 4 piece wicker collection that was in my Grandparets hotel in the 1940's. It consists of a sofa, chair, rocker, and sofa table. The sofa and chairs all have springs. I am trying to find the value of these items to potentially put them up for auction. Any help would be appreciated.
