I bought a barbie doll and she appears to have real hair. Not the usual hair that barbies have, that doesn't look or feel nice. It really does look like hair that comes from a human. I have not seen this before. Is this unusual? Does it make my barbie more valuable?
I am new to sharing my love for dolls (barbie) with the public just recently and I have a HUGE collection about a 1/4 of NRFB and some Vintage dolls out of box. Accessories/clothes and over 100 dolls from mid 90's until 2003 was my really spend all you got years. Now I am wanting to learn how to sell some of my treasures and be it Ebay or a convention I don't want to overprice (scarecrow) or underprice. I have studied allot with many books and magazines and blogs but I need guidance. I live in the OKC area and so badly want to meet others and sell so I am able to buy into the more expensive BJD's, Sybarites, Jason WU, and such. Still loving Barbie though.
I just got this barbie who is all rubber...no leg or arm joints. Back is Mattel 2002 and head is 1998. She has blond hair and is the new body design with a smaller chest and bigger hips. Anyone know who she is?
I bought her years ago at the Mattel store and she was sold in a poly bag with her shoes. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e237/dmay2000/Barbie001.jpg

I have found a great cleaner to use on the vintage straight leg Barbie family of dolls. It's called Krud Kutter. I found it at my local Sears parts store. I've only used it on the dolls legs. I had a Midge and her legs were almost black with dirt. I poured the Krud Kutter on her legs and it took the dirt right off. What didn't get removed by pouring it on, I used the Krud Kutter on a qtip and rubbed the tough spots a little bit and the stuff came off.
