I feel stupid, like I should know this.... songs are credited to "Lennon-McCartney", even though they may have been written by only one or the other. Why is this???? Pardon my ignorance, but would you all clear this up for me, so I can sleep?? LOL, thanks... peace, love and the Beatles...
Last month after my sweet MOM died almost two years to the day my DAD had died. While going through tons of stuff to sort ,keep ,sell ,or give away ,I found my jacket sleeve to the BEATLE record RAIN/PAPERBACK WRITER,in a old trunk. It is pristine! How did it get there and no record was in it.PERKED ME UP SOME.LUCKILY I HAD THE THE RECORD ,BUT HOPE TO FIND A BETTER COPY. TO THINK THE COVER HAD BEEN THERE SINCE 1966 IS UNREAL AND A JOY TO FIND! WOW! Wish all my BEATLE SLEEVES WERE THERE!
JOHN IS MY FAVORITE ,BUT I STILL WISH REVELUTION NUMBER 9 HAD BEEN LEFT OFF THE WHITE ALBUM. IT IS NOT MUSIC AND TAKES UP SPACE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN USED BY GEORGE, FOR ONE,FOR A SONG LIKE "NOT GUILTY" THAT WAS BUMPED FROM THE ALBUM.SEEMS JOHN WAS JUST BEING SELF INDULGENT,WHICH ON ONE HAND IS ALL RIGHT SINCE HE GAVE US SOME GREAT MUSIC,BUT THE GREAT ALBUM WOULD HAVE BEEN THAT MUCH BETTER AND MORE COMPLETE IF OTHER SONGS HAD BEEN PUT ON INSTEAD OF NO. 9 .HOW DO YALL FEEL? NOT THE WHITE ALBUM WITH OUT IT? WHAT.THANK YALL!

Did you know that the Beatles have received 21 gold recordsSINCE THEY BROKE UP! No other band in the history of music has even received one gold record after the split up of the band and only a handfull of bands received 20 or more when they were together. The Beatles received 19 gold records in only 7 years of recording together. You mention those facts to a person who doesn't like the Beatles(yes, sadly there are a few) and you'll get a look of surprise.Tell it to another fan and you'll get a look of enjoyment.
It is a well-known fact that The Beatles were all great musicians, vocalists and songwriters. However, let us not forget about how good they were covering other people's material. On the CDs "Please Please Me", "With The Beatles", "Beatles For Sale", "Help!", "Past Masters Volume One", "Anthology 1", "Anthology 3", and "Live At The BBC", there are some excellent examples of how this famed quartet of British rock royalty could easily transform other people's compostions and adapt them for their own arrangements. As a matter of fact, It would be a great idea for Apple/EMI/Parlophone to release a CD of only Beatles cover tunes together. While we have been blessed with titles like "Yellow Submarine Songtrack", "Beatles 1", "Let It Be...Naked", "The Capitol Albums, Volume 1", "The Capitol Albums, Volume 2" and "LOVE", there has never yet been a Beatles album containing only the songs the band did not write. I, myself, have already taken matters in hand and created my own version, featuring just the original 24 cover tunes first released between 1963 to 1965, during the height of Beatlemania. This idea goes as far back as 1974. This collection proves, once and for all, that The Beatles were a great cover band. In fact, this CD is "The Ultimate Beatles Tribute Album".
Hi, I am a huge fan of the Beatles and I would like to start collecting original Beatles albums. I just wanted to know what to look for when buying and how do I know if I am being ripped off or not? I had alot of original albums 20 years ago and when I got married, I did not take them with me when we moved out of town and they got sold in a garage sale along with many other classic rock albums. I have all their cd's, but would like to get back to the vinyl! Any advice would be helpful! Charlotte
Anyone know what a 1963 pressing on Parlophone lable of "Please, Please Me" album is worth. This is a British lable that the Beatles recorded for in sixty two and three. Album was purchased in Cambridge, UK. Condition is better than average.
I am collecting all the Beatle albums (lp) for me and my wife. What I need to know is what is the most valued? Capitol or "APPLE" labels as far as I know have something to do with collectability. Thanks in advance!
