I was trying to keep my cat from going out the door this morning when I head butted a cabinet and blacked my eye. How was every body else morning? LOL!!
I affectionately refer to my cats, Gibson and Moobaby, as Thing 1 and Thing 2 because they seem to know well how to terrorize my apartment while I am gone. The thing is... there is no Cat in the Hat to clean up after them; or,
at least this Kat (my name) has a hard time to keep up with them!!! lol... Anyone else have a similar problem?????
I have 3 Fur Babies: 2 of them are 10 week old kittens. Fuzzy is a black kitten who is also a polydactyl. He has an extra digit on each paw, that look like thumbs. It definitely adds to his personality. He is very affectionate, and when I'm sitting here at the computer, he likes to jump on me and go right up to my shoulder to perch. And, he will actually try to nurse my neck!
Frisky is an orange tiger. He is more rambuctious, and slightly bigger than Fuzzy. He is not as affectionate as Fuzzy, but he is still affectionate.
Then, we have an older cat that just showed up at our back door 3 weeks ago. Her name is Calico, and she bears a striking resemblance to our cat Pouncer, who died a year and a half ago, after drinking antifreeze. Calico just showed up one day, literally on our roof, which she jumped onto from our fence. My husband called me outside and pointed to the roof, and there she was, looking down and meowing. She has been coming and going since then. She has definitely made herself at home.
Our kittens just survived a bout of Feline Distemper, which we suspect they picked up from Calico. It was a very scary week, as we thought we were going to lose them. But they received lots of TLC, and I bought an emergency kitten feeding kit from the pet store, and that seemed to help them get over it. They are now back to their kitteny ways.
I've always had cats in my life ever since I was born. The longest that I have gone without a cat was a year and 3 months. That was when our cat Buddy died, which was 2 months after Pouncer died. I was really devestated, because Buddy had gone missing, and it was totally unlike him to stray far from the house. We found him in the bushes that are in between us and the neighbors. It was a sad day! 2 months later, after much begging from our daughters, we adopted our dog, Freckles, and gave her some TLC for the next year and 3 months.
My mother-in-law then adopted a kitten, who happens to be the same age as our kittens, and who is also a polydactyl. We had to take care of him for a week, while my mil had to go out of state. We fell in love with him, and decided it was probably time for us to have a kitty in our home again. Taking care of my mil's kitty made me miss having cats.
So, after looking in our local bulletin board paper, I came across an ad for 2 free kittens that was just a few blocks away. I was the first one to respond, and as I was driving to the house to look at them, I only intended to just get 1 kitten. But as soon as I walked in the house and saw them both eating together, I fell in love with both of them, and I knew I couldn't seperate them. So, both of them came home with me. When my daughters got home from school, they were totally surprised, because they didn't know that I was thinking about getting a kitten.
They have been a joy in our house, and definitely have brought happiness and delight with their antics! Freckles is even used to them now, and kind of watches after them, and is slowly putting up with their "abuse", when they play with her tail, or swat at her nose.
Just thought I'd tell everyone the update on my little "runt" kitten. They are now two weeks old, and he's still growing. I was afraid all the bigger kittens would nudge him out of the way and he wouldnt get his share of lunch. So far hes stayed right in there with the rest of them. I truthfully never thought he'd live more than a couple of day, he was so tiny(about the size of my thumb), but he's still with us. I guess you might have figured out that I named him Itty Bitty!
My husband and I decided we wanted to get a kitten and then heard it's best to get two, so they keep each other busy. What specific supplies, etc. should we get to be ready for them? We think we'll adopt two American shorthair cats. Are females better? When can we get them declawed? Any and all info you want to share would be helpful. Thanks!
This morning I took my cat Sa-cha to the vet and she found that Sa-cha's front right canine was slightly chipped / broken. My vet is recommending that I have her x-ray the Sa-Cha's mouth to determine if the tooth should be pulled or capped. The price is about $300.00. Has anyone ever had this done to thier cat and is the price reasonable. I am also thinking that I should probably buy pet insurance - I have 4 cats and 3 dogs and they are getting older. Any thoughts on that as well? Thanks.

OH AND FOR THOSE WHO LOVE CATS BUT ARE AFRAID THE CLOTHES MAY BE IN CONTACT WITH THE CAT, MY CAT TIGGER IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE WAREHOUSE AREA IT'S NOT PART OF THE SAME HOUSE ..
We have a cat with no tail that could outrun a horse. He acts like a dog, he sleeps on his back in whatever box he can find, He plays fetch, plays in water and chews on himself and licks the hair off his back legs which we can't seem to make him quit.
Ive noticed a lot of you have a picture next to your discussion topic. Could anyone tell me how to do that? Thanks.....Now there is a picture on here, but its not my picture! Any advice?
Ever see the commercial where the cat and dog would work together to steal the master's lunch. When I was a kid mine would open the door the cat would turn the knob while standing on the dogs back and the dog would bump it. It was the funniest thing.
