Seems everyone that has worked in the auto repair business has a bunch of good funny stories. When inexperience meets mechanical devices strange stuff sometimes happens. Even you hobbyists probably have some good stuff too .( like when your buddy installed that engine but didn't put the flex plate on ??) How about it people?? has there been something you saw someone do to or with a car that made you just step back and ask"WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??!!" One of the craziest I ever saw was a seized engine in a nova... when I drained the "oil " it was the weirdest color and smell ...when I called the lady that owned , she told me that couldn't be as she had just changed it herself . when I asked what oil she had used she tells me she can't remember the brand , but still had the containers she could bring them in to prove it was changed ( extended warranty on the car).when she brought them in the next day ...yep...what were you thinking. the containers were for Phillipo Berio olive oil...it was on sale !!!! how bout it? it's been a rough day ...I need a good laugh...

i have an 86 chevy pickup with a 350 engine and sm 465 tranny in it. i want to have an overdrive so i want to put a newer 5 speed in. i have done some research and it looks like the shifter on the nv4500 comes up further back on the transmission than it did on the 465. my concern is that it willl interfere with my transfer case shifter. I was just windering if anyone knows about this or if anyone has succesfully done this, i am sure someone has.

I'm hoping to find someone's used hood or someone close to me to save on shipping. Let me know if you have any leads. Thanks
What do u think about the new chevy's. I just bought a new Tahoe-when my Ford burned up and nothing was left but the two back tires. It was a Lincoln Navigator made by Ford Motor Co. I've heard abt. the wireing harness (made in mexico) for both chevy and ford. Any thoughts?
