I'm hoping someone can help me shed some light on this: In 1973 Warner Bros, through Rarities Mint (I think), issued a set of coins commemorating Bugs Bunny's 50th birthday. There were supposed to be 12 silver rounds in the set, but I have only found ANY evidence of the first three - Bug (#1), Elmer Fud (#2), and Porky Pig (#3). Is anyone at all aware of the remainder of the set?
Is it just me or do you find some buyers to be absolutely insane on eBay?? I bend over backwards to satisfy everyone but there are a few that rant and rave, no matter what you say to them or what you do. Geez.......
I have some coins in the old 1st slabs used by PCGS in the "rattle" cases. They appear to be conservatively graded. Is this a reflection of me buying high end grades at that time or is it that PCGS was more conservative in their grading practices in the 1980s? The latter seems least likely to me because I seem to remember getting a discount with coins in the orginial holders in the early 1990s. However, the fact that you do not see them anymore suggests that a lot of them were resubmitted, albiet, I seem to recall that if you wanted your coins in the new holders at that time, you could get it done at a small fee ( they were not regraded). But they were still fairly common for years which suggests that not that many were done that way. That is not the case today, it is a rare occassion when you see one. What do you think, were the PCGS coins in the orginial holders more conservatively graded?
Why do people drill holes in coins ?? Does it make them worthless ?? Have you ever bought a coin with a hole drilled in it ?? Seems like a waste of money, but like they say "a fool and his money....."
Are any of the Roosevelt dimes key dates? I know the mintages sometimes don't reflect the actual amount of the surviving specimens that were not lost or destroyed. Anybody a dime collector?
Hey All, The Coinhood Staff was thinking on an idea for a raffle, and we decided to test the waters of this type of contest. We wanted to know your thoughts on it, good or bad, so maybe Coinhood might want to do this sort of thing again. Any thoughts will be much appreciated, Thanks, -T$ http://www.coinhood.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?19177

The title somewhat speaks for itself. Do you think coins in ultra high grades are bringing more $$$$ than they should, I mean at what point does it get ridiculous? A person could say that a coin is only worth what someone is willing to pay, but will it be worth that in the future? The difference between a 69 and a 70 isn't even noticeable to most folks, however the price difference can be thousands of dollars!
In particular I think most of the new super coins that grade out PF-70 Ultra Cameo carry too much of a premium, but even some old coins might be over valued...... Could the bubble burst? What do you think? :-)
