seems like riots are taking place in so many nations due to food shortages and lack of rice and grains. forget gold and silver buy wheat and rice futures. global inflation is producing food shortages around the world now. when will the u.s. be next?
today on my yahoo email I got one that said I had sold an item to this person and I needed to respond.well, first I do not use my yahoo as my email on ebay--I looked on the email and went to the link to see what it was-It wanted me to log on and give password.I guess so they could get it.I had already logged on ebay and knew it was fake.Just want to tell people to be aware of it------Terry
Now that we have pulled the plug on the SBAs and Sacs, how about the presidental dollars and the first wives coins? I mean some of the presidents look sort of goony. lol. the designer could have made them look much better. lol.
I just happened accross this auction. Does the peace dollar look real to you? I am not sure. I just started reading about counterfeit morgans and peace dollars a few days ago, thanks to you fine folks. Steve
ultimiately, the only way to go is wth morgan and peace dollars. this ensures that everyone knows what money is. when the paper is not accepted anymore, the silver dollars will be the only way to buy things.
Since the Civil War onward, the money supply was turned over to the bankers and credit. the greenback was created. the note. these are all bank debt. however prior to 1897 Silver was King. no credit allowed, each american had to put silver on the table.
I just read this off the wire. A thief in Germany stole some 80000$ in coins from a mans house durring a break in. Three days later Dummy took the coins to a bank to put them in a safe deposit. The man at the bank in charge of the depository is the man whose collection was stolen. Needless to say he got his collection back and dummy is in jail. Ha Ha. He should get a Darwin award.
Hello, more from the novice here. I'm like a kid in the candy store with just a penny to my name!
Anyhow, please look at this listing and tell me if you think it's worth it or not. The guy is established and has great feedback. So I'm guessing that value now falls on trends and expectations. http://cgi.ebay.com/8-OUNCE-SILVER-US-COINS-SUPER-SILVER-OFFER_W0QQitemZ360039420578QQihZ023QQcategoryZ525QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I guess what I'm asking, is would this be a fairly safe initial investment trial? No, I'm not asking you to predict the future or anything like that. Just how you might feel about something like this vs other offers out there--seems safer or riskier than the typical ebay transaction, or something like that.
I have ordered two boxes of the next presidential dollars from the bank. This will be the John Qunicy Adams coin. They are both P mint, but I would like to have one box of each. As I cannot get D mint in the east, and most people in the west cannot get P mint, is anyone interested in exchanging unopened boxes of P and D?
As you don't know me and I will not know you, we can make the exchange by making reciprocal payments of $1000 to one another through paypal.
I realize this group is about coins, but does anyone here purchase scrap gold or silver on ebay and if so, what do you look for? How do you judge whather something is a deal or not? ~Rhonda
I have one Saudi gold coin that my brother-in-law brought home from Saudi Arabia in the early 70s. I now want to sell it, but realize that I need to have it appraised as to gold content, etc. I don't even know what denomination the coin is, just that it is very heavy. How do I find a certified coin appraiser? I've not found one in our local telephone book (Memphis, TN) and it's hard to "just pick one" off the net. So, does anyone have any suggestions that you're willing to share?
I have a $1 Federal Reserve Note, Series 1988A, San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank. It has Greek or Roman warriors with lances overprinted over the seals on each side of the front of the note. The overprinting is extremely well executed. I've not been able to find out anything about it and wonder if anyone has any ideas.
