I've always considered myself a good bookkeeper.I keep impecable records and am considerably anal about my coins. BUT. As fate would have it, i've ordered double coins again! Cross off the coin from the master sheet, mark the Redbook acordingly, delete the coin on the master computer list... then WAMMM. I've bought it again! It's these damn Barbara issue coins! the quarters look just like the halves! to make maters worse the list i've created is columised right next to the other. Talk about dyslexia. this is the third time i've had to sit down next to my coins and my coin list's to see what i really need. Put it to the VOTE ??? does anyone really like the barbara series coins? [ ] Yes I love them!
[ ]No they are bland and should be kept in bags of bullion!
It's too bad my goal is to own one of every coin made by the mint otherwise I would have given up on them a long time ago. So now i'm buying them as fast as I can so I can move onto somthing else.
BEUTIFUL COINS WORTH EVERY CENT, BUT WHAT ARE THEY WORTH.? I SEE PRICES ALL OVER THE PLACE. JUST WAIT UNTIL THE MINT STOPS SELLING THE 2009 MINT SETS, THEN WATCH THE PRICES CLIMB.
Apparently the US mint will not be selling these to the general public,They must be purchased through a bullion dealer.I would be willing to bet that a coin purchased from say "AMPEX" and later sent out for Grading is going to be alot cheaper than waiting for an e-bay graded coin. ' Silver, save this post and put it up next year! Lets see who took my advice and got in early? Maybe i'm gonna take a bath on this one? I'll take my chances with a presale. If you guy's can't recognise the "Deal of the Year" coin by now ...be prepared to pay the piper later. IMHO
sold huge amount in less than one week, then paypal shuts me down and places restriction on me, even i am verified and unlimited and a member for over 5 years. dang. not fair. those american gold eagle one oucne coins were going like hot cakes. then price goes up, and paypal issues restriciton. ruined my business:
Sold (last 31 days) Listed 26 Sold 51 Amount $52,860.00
Payments (last 31 days) Received $9,540.00 Not received $43,320.00
Since we were on the subject of scams and having to sort through all the replicas and items listed in the wrong catogories. I came across this listing a couple times so I checked out the sellers other items. Wow this crap is listed in just about every catogory there is! I complained to ebay that I"m sick of sorting through the crap when I'm a busy person trying to find computer software. cameras, or coins and some fool like this wastes my time. But it's MONEY FOR EBAY again! No reply and the and the listing is still everywhere. I'm not knocking someone trying to make a buck, but where do you draw the line?
About a year ago i made a discusson on fake Trade dollars and how good they are becoming...Well look at these and tell me how comfortable you are bidding on raw uncertified coins now? Leave it too the chinese to come up with exact weight and silver planchets for their counterfiet coins! Only highly experienced collectors will be able to tell these from real ones. Warning to collectors; . Trade dollars are not the only coins being copied. * *buy only from reputable dealers with high feedback if you are purchasing RAW coins. * *Today 10/25/09 there is a slew of mercury dimes on e-bay in perfect condition...the seller is from Italy. I'm not saying they are fake coins, but this is one sale i'm walking away from. If it's too good to be true....
I purchased a 1922 peace dollar that looked like a high relief. Well it was, but in looking at it with a loupe it was pitted like pewter or cast iron. So I passed a magnet over it and it jumped off my desk and stuck to the magnet. Well I contacted the seller and sent it back for a refund. I got the refund. The seller claimed they didn't know it was a fake. In the meantime I had contacted another buyer of his that bought a 1922 peace dollar from the sellers feedback, whose positive feedback said "seller made it right". Sure enough another fake 1922 peace dollar or the sameone! What do all of you coin neighbors suggest; Should I ask for my return postage be mailed to me or just slap freddie with a negitive feedback.
I recently sold this item for $72.00. The buyer returned it and said that the coin had some gauges and wear that didn't show up in the picture I had taken. He was very nice and gave me 100% feedback. Now I have reposted it with better pictures. Could somebody PLEASE take a look at it and give me some ideas on how to improve the description. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!!!!!
I went through past posts and could not find too many posts that mentioned how to get good pics and scans of coins. I want to make some more room in the safe by selling some coins but I can't get a good pic with detail. Brown pennies come out black on the scanner. It's a new Lexmark X6650. It's got more power than the computer. My Canon powershot a720is has 8 mp but the coins come out fuzzy at best. I'm looking to sell pennies, nickels and some Ikes. Any help would be loved. Thanks folks.
I have scored 5 coins tonight ! My master sheet of "needed" coins is very hard to fill one or two a week let alone 5 in one night! But at what cost? Well by staying home i've saved 2 or 3 hundred dollars from the casino's but i've had to endure hours of sigh's and whinning from my wife!
