Hey all, I'm looking for some help/advice. My dad has a old light blue Schwinn Le Tour that is simply not in riding shape at current. When he was a young buck he road it from Miami to Seattle with a group of guys. Anyway, i'm looking to try to get it in good road shape. I was thinking of replacing all the components. I don't need the lightest stuff on the market, just durable road tested items. Anyone have advice on whole component sets for this bike? I'm looking to get things that will last in touring conditions not racing. Any advice would be sweet.

I have a Nakamichi road bike. I have not been able to find ANY information on this or any other Nakamichi Bicycle. Does anyone know about these and what it might be worth?
I own a 2007 Giant Rincon mountain bike. I am not a bike expert, what is the most important part of the bike and why? Also, does upgrading a fork really make a big difference in the way a bike rides?
What can I do for burning, numb feet? I don't have any problem until I hit about 30 miles. I have very basic Shimano shoes. I have tried insoles, doesn't help. Will a better or different shoe help or does everyone have this problem on long rides? JoAnn
Okay, I just recently bought a Trek 2.3 which some of you may be familar with, predominantly aluminum frame with carbon componentry and bontrager race wheels with the standard 700x23 bontrager black/gray tires.
After talking to a number of cyclists who mentioned that a premium set of tires is perhaps the most cost effective way to increase speed (mostly due to lower rolling resistance) I decided I might as well go ahead and buy the continentals I've been eyeing.....
Only thing is I was going to jump on the Continental GP4000 in RED rubber which I thought would look sporty/flashy and match my bike well PLUS I loved that the GP4000 has the German flag on the tire sidewall as well, but then again I'm VERY VERY particular about colors matching and so forth along with everything looking good together... hence my perdiciment when I discovered the NEW GP4000S which is apparently a far superior tire to that of the 4000 and only marginally more expensive, HOWEVER it only comes in Black and no German flag on the sidewall : ( which I really liked!
So heres the question.... I'd like everyones input based on what they think will look good on the bike between those 2 tires since they're the only ones I'm considering, and MOST IMPORTANTLY what those of you think who have ridden on one or both of these tires since obviously performance is more important than looks in the end!

I recently bought a Women's FW Giant Bicycle. After two crashes and not being to control the bike the way I thought I could when I test road it, I decided it is too big. It cost nearly $1000 before I took it home from the LBS. The LBS doesn't take trade-ins. The bike has been ridden less than a hundred miles. If I sell it, how much do you think I should ask for it?
I am looking to purchase a cycling trainer for my wife so she can train year round any suggestions. Biggest part is i am not trying to break the bank but get a good product that she will enjoy any suggestions.
My bike store told me that when the padding was worn out in my helmet it was time to get a new helmet. They said that the helmet hard material acutally deteriorates and I need to buy a new helmet every five years or so. Can't believe the later. What does anyone know about the lifetime of a helmet? I bought a new Trek helmet and am happy with it. Hate to give it up when the padding wears out and would like to find replacement padding. Was told to buy it now while that is available. Any ideas?
