Does anyone know of any GOOD eBay Sellers (in the U.S.) that offer custom Laptop Skins for Dells, particularly the B130/B1300 models? We have searched and searched in the past, with very little results. Dell offers a "small" selection of skins, but none that we care for, as we would like something a little more personalized. We would even be interested in purchasing "blank" skins that we can customize ourselves, either with vinyl or paint/airbrush. If you have any recommendations of eBay Sellers that offer these, any info is greatly appreciated! THANKS IN ADVANCE!! Have a Great Monday, TNS c/o CHAOTICZ Specialties & Customz (OHIO)
I am far from a computer guru so I need some help. I have this new work laptop and I know I can use it at Wi-Fi spots, but not always sure how to get connect to them. That's not the main question.
I live in the country and we do not have DSL (it is offered but expensive around $40-70/month). I'd like to do a wireless card. I have borrowed my husband's Sprint wireless card and it has worked. I would like to get one from Verizon as we have better coverage through them, however, they are really pushing the new USB card. What is the main difference and which would be better to use. My husband thinks the wireless card and I've seen a few things saying the USB card is better because you can sit it in a different spot.
Any help would be grand, thanks for all your help in advance.
Well it seems that we have had a new problem arise with one of our Inspiron B1300/B130 Laptops. We've been using the battery w/o AC off and on lately without any problems. For the two years that we have owned this particular Laptop, we have never really operated it solely off of the battery, until just recently. This evening when we went to unplug it and go to our other room, it shut down. When we plugged it back into the wall and started it up, we noticed that there is now an Orange flashing light on the control panel(that I think usually flashes green). It flashes orange four times, then once green. We searched Google for this issue, and was directed to the Dell site. The Dell site calls the 4:1 a "Temporary Battery Failure". When we searched our Battery Status under Windows Power Management, the Power State reads Online, Critical. The one thing that we can relate to this may be that we were running off of the battery lastnight, fell asleep, and when we awoke, the battery was completely drained, of course. Come to think about it, I dont think we ran it off of the battery at all today, so this may be the first time we have done so since lastnight. One Forum Member stated that the battery most likely needs replaced, while another said it may have just overheated, and another mentioned about shutting the Laptop down and restarting it. When checking the Battery State in Windows Power Management, the Battery is shown with a big red X through it. We have a couple of Questions:
*When Dell says "Temporary Battery Failure", what exactly does "temporary" mean? Is the battery faulty or is this just a fluke? Is it possibly a "temporary" problem, or is it likely that the battery is shot?
*The AC adapter works fine, as you can see we're online. What may have caused the battery to fail since we really rarely used it? Could it just have overcharged over the past two years? Or, could there have been a problem with the wall outlet that may have made the battery become defective? Note: the AC Power Supply is working properly.
*How can we troubleshoot the condition of the battery? Is there a way? Our Laptop does not have the LED Panel in the Battery Compartment for troubleshooting.
*Is it safe to plug into another outlet, and test another NEW battery, or is there a chance the system could damage the new battery?
I guess for now, we'll try the "shut it down, let it sit, and restart it" suggestion, and see what happens. It cant hurt anything.
Any input/info would be greatly appreciated, as we have now started to become accustomed to running the Laptop solely off of the battery at different times througout the day, especially while in our work truck or on the road. Using the battery power has become very convenient as we can just unplug and move to another location without having to shut down.

We have all heard of the Blue Screen of Death, which is/has been very common among many brands of computers. Recently, Dell replaced one of our Laptops, a Latitude D510 and within seconds of turning it on for the first time after opening the sealed package, we received the Flashing Cursor screen several times, even after attempting reboot. The Flashing Cursor of Doom screen usually indicates a Hard Drive Failure, for which Dell is notorious for. When we purchased one of our Inspiron B130/B1300 Laptops two years ago, the Hard Drive went out within the first month, and of course, Dell covered it under the Manufacturers Warranty, but sent us a "Refurbished" Hard Drive. After receiving the so-called "new" replacement Hard Drive from Dell, and we noticed the Refurbished sticker, we called and requested a "new" Hard Drive, one that was not refurbished. According to Dells Technical Support Reps, new drives are not given if refurbished drives are available. Since replacing the Hard Drive, we havent had any problems with that particular Laptop, except for the fact that we are still uncomfortable knowing that we paid a decent price for a [Brand New] Laptop and it now has a Refurb Drive. Just some FYI we wanted to share with everyone! Have a Great Day!! TNS c/o CHAOTICZ Specialties (OHIO)
Hello! We have tried everything in regards to troubleshooting and changing system settings in regards as to why we cannot save ANY of our own pictures on one of our Dell Inspiron B130/B1300 Laptops in JPEG(.jpg) format(say pics from our websites, etc). When we attempt to save ANY picture to our laptop, the only option we have is to save it as a bitmap(.bmp) or art(.art) file. Any technical suggestions that "may work"?? Also, we have saved many of our pictures to our laptop in either .bmp or .art format, in order to help save them. The only way for us to convert these over to .jpg format, is to send them via AOL email to our laptop, convert them on the other laptop to jpeg by saving them as such, then emailing them back to our account and saving them on our Dell. SO, what we need, is to figure out how to correct our issue of saving pictures in JPEG format, AND also how to convert pics alreay saved as bmp or art, into jpg format. Its very important that we figure out what to do to correct this. We've had our Dell for almost two years, and it was fine for the first few months, but has never been the same since. Technical Suggestions? Note: we're running XP Pro SP2.

I purchased an Inspiron B130 laptop in 2006. I had it about six months when the battery went out. I purchased a new battery and a new power adapter, but I still get no power. Now I'm being told I probably need a new motherboard. First of all, does anyone know about how much it would cost to get a new motherboard? Secondly, does anyone think it's worth it to get it fixed or should I just buy a new laptop?
