Hi I'm new to the Neighborhood, and I was just wondering how many other Great Danes owners are here. I love all breeds of dogs, but I've got a soft spot for the Danes :) I have a three year old male harlequin called Blue. He is the first Dane I've raised that did not come from a rescue. I also have a three year old Chihuahua called Odie. They're my own version of the odd couple. Is there anyone else who has a canine odd couple too?
I rescued a 10 month old toy poodle. My problem is she (CoCo) has never been housebroken. About 20 to 30 min. after feeding I walk her, 30 to 45 mins. but as soon as she comes in side she goes. I kept her on a leash next to me when she starts to sniff around I take her out, but no luck. She just refuses to go out side. I can keep her out for an hour no go. Please advise. Thanks
Mines Is A Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Goes By The Name Of Jinky Johnstone a.k.a Johnnie. He's 2 Years Old. He's A Rescue We've Had Him Since He Was 6 Mths Old!
I am fairly new to this NH and this is the first time I've actually ever joined anything like this. I really like it a lot. I love hearing from other dog lovers. This place is great. I have laughed and also cried. I have also been educated and entertained. I love the story that never ends. I can't understand why people come here to sell things that have nothing to do with dogs. For example - if I wanted to buy a baby phatt coat I would go on ebay and look for one to buy. I realize the best thing to do is not to answer this individual and the message will move back. Thanks for listening :-)
I breed my maltese when previous customers ask me to, or when I know that I have a waiting list. So anyways miss Lexxi has not had a litter in 1.5 years and everything goes fine. However this time, she doesn't even look like she is pregnant, if she is maybe 1 or 2 pups. I'm anxious, I hope she is pregnant. She acts like it. She will be due on Oct. 17. She has all the signs except her nipples don't look like their getting bigger- that's what I'm getting confused about. So I'm figuring this is a false pregnancy. Does anyone else agree? This has never happened to me before. I breed and everything goes through. I have been so lucky I've produced 44 puppies in 5 years and never lost one, god I'm thankful. I could not go through that. Their pups are like your own babies, you know what I mean. Could this possibly be a false pregnancy.
JUST WONDERING WHAT EVERYONE THINKS OF NIKE GIVING MICHAEL VICK ANOTHER SHOT AT ENDORSMENTS/SHOE DEALS ETC. THE ONLY THING HE REALLY SEEMS SORRY ABOUT.....IS GETTING CAUGHT!
I give Fish Oil Caplets.. both love them and eat them like candy.. I give the lab. 2 and the doxie- 1 caplet a day..1200 mg. each caplet. Both of there coats are nice and shiny.. teeth in wonderful condition and I know this is excellent for the heart as well.
Also, just a nugget... when washing your dog ... add alittle DAWN to the water.. fleas hate it.. I am very much into alternative medicines for me and my furchildren.
Now, go walk your dog.. Do not let your dog get overweight.. Dr. use to say you are "Loving Your Dog To Death".. just like humans..it will hurt.. if they are overweight..if you have a fat dog..you need to walk more..THEY keep me in check.. the lab will run the treadmill with me.. Now make it a wonderful day!!
