1969-1970 Fender Telecaster; American. Original body, neck (small "C" shape), neck plate, screws, control plate, knobs, frets (just dressed and crowned), string ferrels, string trees, and strap buttons. Pick-ups look original; bridge plate is correct style for era. Wiring expertly done with cloth covered wire (old style-correct for era). New 1000 ohm pots. Solid ash wood body; maple wood neck. Tuners (Grover tuners from this era) and pick guard are non-original. Refinished (unknown when or by whom) to natural with satin finish. First Of all I will tell you a bit about myself and say what I can play so you might be then able to comment on which Guitar would suit me. I have been playing electric guitar for around 4 to 5 years now and never plan to stop playing. My main playing style is based around Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal. In the past and at the moment I am playing a bit of everything such as Black Label Society, Breaking Benjamin, Dio, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System Of A Down, and a few other Rock bands. I am after a Electric Guitar that would be able to have enough 'attack' when playing it to make it fully (or fairly close) sound the same (also I play Through a ZOOM G2.1U Multi and BOSS Distortion/Overdrive Pedal - because playing though them changes the sound, OF COURSE - just to let you know). I am also looking for a type of guitar that is quite nice to solo on. Not trying to be to picky, but if possiable twin HB pickups, but thats not a must have on the guitar.
I have been looking at Ibanez Guitars in the past few days, but any 'Stage' Brand would be fine.
Basically, I am looking for a Guitar that has good 'attack', Nice to play, and nice to solo on (I know that everyone has their own opinion on a nice guitar to play, but im open to any suggestions, eg - What pedals you play through, Your Rig, your influences, and what your Guitar is like to play, This might give me any idea of what i should get)
Hi, I don't know much about guitars. I bought a Tama a few years back so I could take lessons. I didn't follow through and have hardly touched it. It's in perfect condition as far as I can tell. I am considering selling it and can't find any info about Tamas. There are three sets of numbers on the inside. 74041160, 3548, and 45. Can anyone help me?

Awesome item!! The guitar has barely been used (purchased over 2 years ago, played under 30 times - guaranteed!) and I'm throwing in a Fender guitar stand, and a standard gig bag and guitar strap. Check it out!!!
Here's something for you young whippersnappers out there to ponder: Is it REALLY necessary to get the guitar with the hottest pickups and run it through an amp set at mega gain to make it sound good?. I own ten guitars, or will as soon as FexEx drops of my latest one, and I went out of my way on this last one to get a guitar with slightly UNDERWOUND pickups. I am getting a Hofner Verythin guitar, the Chinese one that doesn't cost close to three grand. It's similar to a Gibson ES335 or Epiphone Dot, but with an extremely thin body (hence the name) and it weighs about like a strat. A good friend had one, and from the sound of it I'd have to guess the output of its pickups is a good deal less than your average humbucker equipped guitar, not a lot more than a strat or the bridge pickup of a telecaster. It has a lot more top end clarity and definition in the sound, and you hear all the little pick noises that don't usually show up from humbuckers. Yeah, it's not so good for metal, I guess, but it sounds just fine overdriven, thank you, so long as you're not trying to punish the ears of your listener.
Here's something else tp think about. When you're naming the truly great heavy rock RHYTMM players ever, who wouldn't include AC-DC's Malcom Young? Yeah, he plays a Marshall stack, but is is NOT turned up all that high, He says about 3 on the volume is right for him (according to Guitar Player magazine), and he plays a Gretsch. They have wonderful sweet sounding Filtertron pickups, not exactly mega output, ya know? He DOES slam the holy s*%t out of the guitar to get the driving sound that propels AC-DC, but it ain't with lots of gain, Just plug in, no pedals, and pound hell out of it. Even Angus Young doesn't use that much gain if you listen carefully. Play with clarity and less gain and guess what? The sound doesn't get lost, it cuts through the mix and still sounds powerful, just dial some of the mids out of your amp if you want more edge, or leave the mids up to sound fat, 'cuz it won't be muddy without do damn much gain.
