Musical Instruments: Discussions

How can the sale of chinese-made instruments be stopped or reported? It is not right that eBay sellers make money when they do not include the drawbacks of the instruments they sell, like the fact that chinese-manufactured instruments have a tendency to break fast and repairs usually cost more than the instrument itself, or that for a beggining student a chinese instrument is poor quality and frustrates students into thinking that they just cannot play the instrument when the problem is not in the student but the instrument. Buyers are led into a false sense of security when sellers say things like "instructor approved". Which instructors and are they reliable sources? How do we stop these people?

I'm a left handed singer/songwriter and play both guitar and bass. I've been playing, well, a hell of a long time. I'm interested in hearing from others who are truly left handed, not those who say " yeah but I learned to play right handed." That makes you right handed, if you hadn't noticed. I'm talking to those who struggle to find quality gear or have been blamed because a right hander gets whacked in the head onstage by your guitar or bass neck. Do you notice other issues, problems, and maybe even advantages because you are a southpaw ?

I have a couple of questions :
1) Have you bought/played any of the really cheap brands that are always available on EBay and offer a lot of left handed instruments ? Are they junk, or really great deals ?
2) Have you found or worked with left or right handed teachers that are good with lefties and don't coerce or shame you into playing right handed ?

Does anyone know if these are safe to play or would it be the same thing as putting plastic toys from China into your mouth. I like the idea of playing a yellow clarinet but don't know how wise it would be to do it. I would appreciate your input. Thanks very much
