I love Nikons and I am looking to upgrade from a Nikon Coolpix 6.1mp to a nikon d series. I would use the camera for basically to Point and Shoot however I would like to purchase a camera where I can do more. What do you suggest.
I am a college student majoring in photography. I have always used film cameras but was recently told that only digital photos can be evaluated. I am looking for a USED digital Nikon, D40-100 would be ideal. DOES NOT have to be perfect as long as it works, may have wear marks, etc. Also, can just be the body, I have several lenses. Also, I am a college student, living on min. wage. So I can only pay about $100. Thanks so much. Also, if you know anyone that might be able to help of have any idea where I can buy an inexpensive digital Nikon, please do not hesitate to email me. Thanks. chelsae7louise@yahoo.com
Does anyone have any suggestions for a telephoto lens for a Nikon D-40. Yes I would like the Nikor lens its out my price range looking at Sigma or Tamron. I am looking up 300mm. Any ideas?
I'm looking at a D40x for my son. He's a keen amatuer and is studying |Photography at \Uni. I'm confudsed between the various |Nikon models. The x has more pixels but that's not eveerything is it. Would I be better off looking at a D60- or even and 80?
They have different lens mounts I believe the D40 has the DX mount are the 60 and 80 the same? Are the mounts plastic or metal as I;'ve heard the metal mount is better. Maybe I would be better off buying a better camera second hand.
Nikon was always (35mm) the professional journalists camera of choice for it's ruggedness and picture quality. My son take action shots, maninly outdoors and is quite arty in in his picture composition be it portrait, architecture or skaters (his main subjects. For example I don't thing the 40x can shoot B & W from the camera.
If anyone has any informed ideas and can be bothered to reply thanks.
Hi, I'm just really getting into my D40 and want to add lens to be able to do wildlife shots. I know getting Nikon lens would be the best, but I can't really afford the good ones right now. Has anyone tried the Opeteka lens with their Nikon, or can you recommend a good inexpensive lens to get started with?

I shoot with a Nikon D40 and im looking for the best telephoto lense to buy. I shoot many animal picks. Any recomendations that wont break the bank? I currnetly borrow my aunts Nikkor 75-300mm 1:4.5 - 5.6 constantly! (issued to her by the FBI, what a great lense!). Its time I get my own. I want a 300mm - 400mm. Please help! I bid on a Nikon D3 yesterday and then saw in the listing to email esell77@gmail.com for buy it now for $1500. It sounded too good to be true, but I sent an email anyway. I received what looked like an invoice from ebay (aw-confirm@checkout-ebay.com) with a convincing ebay logo. But it instructed me to send payment via Western Union to an address in Italy. I forwarded the email to spoof@ebay.com to see if it was legitimate and ebay informed me that it was not. Evidently the person stole another member's I.D. and used it to list the item. eBay will never tell you to send money via Western Union. I did not tell the seller that I was on to him, so he may try to relist the item. I should have used the "report this item" tab to inform eBay but I did not, so he may try it again. Beware!
Hi, I am a professional freelancer. I have two D100 the last 4 years. I want to up grade because I shoot a lot of sports and D100 is too slow and a slow flash sink. I LOVE the D200 and I am sure the 300 is even better, But I can not afford them right now. Any other suggestions? Diane
I saw this swap on swapz.co.uk. A canon 50D with EF 100mm f2.8 lens. The guy is looking to swap for a Nikon. I am just wondering has anyone used the canon 50d and is it a good swap. I may be asking on the wrong site as this is all Nikon users, sory
Can anyone tell me how to counter the harsh yellow lights typically lighting gyms? I have been disappointed with my attempts to photograph my son playing basketball. I am using the D70.
I recently noticed a slight bluish tint to the pictures I was getting from my N50. It became progressively worse, so a tried to narrow down the propblem. I took the same shot with two different rolls of film, using two different lenses, two different flashes neutral density filters on both and then a tiffen warming filter on one, using two different profram setting, changing obe variable at a time. The tint remained, which leaves me with a camera problem.
