I am considering to purchase a Nikon 70-200 VR lens. I have been holding out for the new VR II . I will be using this lens for landscape and wildlife photograph. Can I justify the extra hundeds of dollars for the new VR version??
I'm looking at a D40x for my son. He's a keen amatuer and is studying |Photography at \Uni. I'm confudsed between the various |Nikon models. The x has more pixels but that's not eveerything is it. Would I be better off looking at a D60- or even and 80?
They have different lens mounts I believe the D40 has the DX mount are the 60 and 80 the same? Are the mounts plastic or metal as I;'ve heard the metal mount is better. Maybe I would be better off buying a better camera second hand.
Nikon was always (35mm) the professional journalists camera of choice for it's ruggedness and picture quality. My son take action shots, maninly outdoors and is quite arty in in his picture composition be it portrait, architecture or skaters (his main subjects. For example I don't thing the 40x can shoot B & W from the camera.
If anyone has any informed ideas and can be bothered to reply thanks.
My wife and I had wanted to make the leap from a good point and shoot (P80) to a more versatile DSLR, and got a good deal on a low actuation D2x. I know, kinda like learning to drive stick in a Formula 1 car. Anyway, short of buying another older prosumer body to get her feet wet (seriously considering this), anyone have any recommendations for a good walk thru dvd, book or brain implant to shorten the learning curve? Also interested in hearing some lens suggestions (birding and super close-up wildlife and flower stuff), or what lenses to avoid. Thanks! Tim
I bet if you are stinky rich you aren't interested a bit on this matter. For the rest of us, where do you suggest buying cheap genuing nikkor lenses? I mean ok with e-bay, but what about other sites? adorama.com is among the cheapest ones i think.
On e-bay i tried cameta-camera. They are good but shipping to europe is expensive. Suggestions people?
Nikon used to make reloadable film cassettes (for use with bulk film) Can't find a one anywhere. Anyone have them for sale or know where I could get some? Thanks, Chris
I bought a D80 recently, and have been enjoying the switch to digital....but no matter how I set the camera I can't get the teleconverter I used with my F3 to work on my D80...I think I understand that it should work in all manual mode...but all the pics are black!!! The teleconvertor still works on the F3...so I think I'm just missing a setting change. Does anyone have the time and patience to explain to me??? Thanks.
Hi everyone. I'm new here. I'm looking for a broken Nikon D40 digital camera that I may be able to use as parts. My camera is broken and it cost to much for me to have someone else repair it. So I'm going to try to fidget around with it. If anyone has an unuseable Nikon D40 that you want to get rid of, email me. nguyenraymond-hotmail. thank you.
