Recently i have faced with the problem on Ebay: i have put the Omega watch, received as a gift from my previous place of work, and later on it was found as replica watch. This made me to start the project on creation the resource on the net, with help of users from all watch-related forums and professional watchmakers globally, give the answers on the doubts of watch-buy planners and identify the discrepancies between replicas and originals.
Currently the resource is under construction, but i hope that in the nearest future we will launch this project. I rely on the help of users from EBay Community. As an example, i have seen the fake U.Nardin watches here.
There are plans to invite the professionals from watch making companies to answer the users questions. The negotiations are on going. so keep checking the site.

Just bought it and I love it! This is the watch shown in a 1979 print ad with astronaut Scott Carpenter's name in the box. The watch is rectangular with a smaller round analog dial surrounded by a gold bezel a la Marine Chronometer. Does anyone know where I can find a ss/gold bracelet for it? Although running fine, who does routine/overhaul maintenance for this? Any other helpful hints? Thanks, Byron
I am looking to purchase an Omega seamaster watch and I came across one today and I cannot tell if the watch is authentic or fake. Would anyone be able to look at the watch and tell what it is? Thank you!
I have a Omega Seamaster from about 1963 with an Omega cal. 550 movement. Is it true that this can be wound using either automatic or manual wind? Will the manual wind have any negative effect on the watch?
Hi I need to buy [Or make one from a copy ] of the Gear for my Omega Flightmaster. It is the gear that is for the rotating hr chapter ring. It fits on the cog gear that is attatched to the inside of the case and has very fine teeth on the outside that mess with the rotating ring. This is all that is still need for this RESCUE WATCH THAT I HAVE PUT BACK TOGETHER FROM A WATCHMAKERS ESTATE. Can't wait to wear this one !!!
While I love the clean look of crisp 50s or 60s Omega, they are hard to find without a refinished dial. If collector / investment value is a major factor in the purchase, should I stay away from refinished dials??
