We have 2 Chihuahua's, 1 male & 1 female, and 3 gold fish that have lived for about 2 years now! Probably because we feed them regularly and we keep the water filtered. Now I want a Chinchilla.
On November 2, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Veterinary Medicine issued an alert warning pet parents and veterinarians to keep a close eye on animals receiving the insulin product, Vetsulin, to treat animal diabetes. The product, which is manufactured by Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal, may contain varying amounts of crystalline zinc insulin, and could cause a delay in insulin action and an overall longer duration of insulin activity, according to the FDA.
“Pet parents whose diabetic dogs or cats are currently being treated with Vetsulin insulin should contact their veterinarians to discuss appropriate measures,” says Dr. Louise Murray, Director of Medicine at the ASPCA. “Examples of alternative insulin choices include Humulin N and Levemir insulins for dogs, and Lantus (glargine) insulin for cats. These insulins require different syringes than those used to administer Vetsulin, and it is essential that pet parents work closely with their veterinarians when making any changes.”
Veterinarians should monitor their patients who are receiving Vetsulin, and consider transitioning them to the insulin products outlined above.

what is the easiest way to sell a litter of puppies? I have 3 APRI registered mini schnauzers that are being raised in my home with their parents. I am not a breeder, so I don't really know where to begin. I am not even sure how much to ask for them. Any advice?
Hi, Everyone. We are back online with our NEW STORE: CONSORTIUM-eb-SEVEN 7 and wanted to invite any who are interested in sharing their lives with Horses to stop over and visit us; we are listing our first NEW EQUINE STUDY COURSE (see the attached number) and working throughout this next week to list other horse related items. We hope you will review our Guides and Community postings because you may find something of interest to you; we always welcome comments and emails. Some of our training and home-vet remedies also apply to smaller "pets" than horses (for instance: one of our Giant Schnauser dogs has been shaking her head and has seepage draining--so we began treating with the simplest approach--mix 3Twhite vinegar with 3Twarm water and 1T peroxide, wash the outer ear and the inside fold, do not go into the inner flap, then gently apply the mixture to both areas and squeeze drops of the mixture into the inner ear( just hold the tip of the ear straight up during this whole process)--stand back! the dog will shake its head and may walk about excitedly (it probably stings) then: quiet and healing begins. We always stay with the dog and give it treats when it settles. You may have to treat 4/5 days before the ear returns to normal. If it takes longer please see a vet....happy trials today to each of you and PLEASE DO VISIT our store...THANKS. wfh webmaster

I have 2 parakeets, Precious is blue and Pretty Boy is green. Not sure how to determine their sex, originally Precious' nose was pale blue and Pretty Boy's nose was brown, after their first molt, Precious' nose turned brown and I can't tell any difference. They are quite amusing, preening each other, and Precious likes to clean house. She throws treats out of the cup when I put people food in for them to eat. They like to fly around, perch on the top of the drapes, then we can tell them to go back into their cage and they will with a little prompting.
