Using Clothing Scraps in Quilts Sandra Hatch
Recycling Wedding & Prom Gowns
Mary shares: "Sandra, I receive your e-newsletters and I appreciate them very much! I want to share a little bit about what the Heavenly Angels in Need does with wedding gowns, prom gowns or any like material. We turn them into infant burial garments, quilts and liners for caskets and memory boxes. We try to use every part of the gowns by using the beads to make little bracelets to put in the memory boxes. Check out the wedding gown page by clicking on "Donation" and then "Wedding Gown Donation" on the drop-down menu at our Web site, www.heavenlyangelsinneed.com or e-mail at info@heavenlyangelsinneed.com."
Winter is coming..alot of us will have extra time to do more quilts and projects and this would be a great way to use up scraps or give away a special project that we have that needs a home....Just a thought.....Stephanie
I grew up in England and when I went to school we had all kinds of classes (that I thought where a waste of time), oh how I wish I had paid more attention. We actually did a semester on French Cooking. We had all kind of art in out art class, our sewing class covered everything from aprons to clothing to drapes , and yes quilting, we even learned to play chess in math class. It was many years later that I learned to quilt becasue I wanted to and not becasue I need to pass a class. I did teach my children even my two boys to cook and clean and to sew, they can all cross stitch and can all machine quilt (well they can sew squares together. How about you? Jo
I am a beginner quilter and plan on doing most of my projects hand pieced. However, I don't wanted to be limited to hand piecing so I am taking a class in machine piecing. The only catch is I don't have a sewing machine! I have very little money to spend. Any suggestions on what sewing machine I would meet my needs?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for cutting fabicric, mostly for quilting. I tried a cordless electric rotary cutter but I could not keep a steady line. A basic rotary tool takes so long and I am still unsteady with that, sad as I am only 30 years old. I have been researching die and cut machines like the Sizzix and Accuquilt (cost WAY to much!). I love the idea, but it seems like it would take just as long because the fabric would need to be cut down to fit in the machine and only one shape could be cut at a time. I thought that a side cutter that can be attched to the sewing machine would work maybe? I am asking because not a single person in my family or a single one of my friends sews...so I need some help! Any suggestions??????
I am looking for the quilting pattern by Curtis Boehringer. This is in the old world santa mystery quilt. the pattern I am wanting is the santa with the ivy leaves around him.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
