I love all Rush songs, but if i had to narrow it down, these are a nice choice for me... "No One At The Bridge" "Circumstances" "Countdown" "Middletown Dreams" "The Big Wheel" "Leave That Thing Alone"
If you go to ccinsider.comedycentral.com and search for Rush, you'll find a clip from backstage at The Colbert Report where Geddy, Neil & Alex play Rock Band - their own song, of course! - and fail miserably!
Hello everyone,Happy New Year. I have been a RUSH fan since 1985. So, needless to say I have heard just about everything RUSH has done musically. I also have most of their cd's in my collection. Great cd's such as, A FAREWELL TO KINGS, MOVING PICTURES, SIGNALS, PERMANENT WAVES, and 2112. With great songs such as, XANADU and CLOSER TO THE HEART. I absolutely love GRAND FINALE off the 2112 cd. Other great songs are FREEWILL, NATURAL SCIENCE, and countless others. As I said, I have almost all RUSH material. Believe it or not, being a RUSH fan for nearly 24 years I have never heard any music from FLY BY NIGHT other than of course FLY BY NIGHT. Which they play on the radio all the time. That changed last week in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Killing time in a truck stop, just browsing, I notice the big blue owl staring at me from the cd stand. So, I took the advice from some of the other RUSH neighborhood members and decided to check it out. Of course, I had to purchase the cd before I could listen to it. So, proud to say that I am now the owner of the remastered RUSH: FLY BY NIGHT cd. All I can say is.....Thanks for the advice!!! This cd rocks!!! 1.) Anthem - very powerful!! 2.) Best I Can- describes RUSH to the fullest. RUSH is not a rock band. RUSH is the Rockband that consists of the three most talented gentlemen that rock my world. 3.) Beneath, Between & Behind- can Geddy Lee sing or what?? 5.) Fly By Night- I've heard it 1,000 times on the radio. Still a great song though. 6.) Making Memories- outstanding!! And yes they did. 7.) Rivendell- sweet melody. 8.) In The End- Alex Lifeson is the greatest guitarist "ever". Alright, I didn't forget #4.BY-TOR & THE SNOW DOG. This one stands alone. Simply because it is the best song on the cd. (My opinion only of course.) This song is my favorite. It starts out with furocious guitar work by Alex and powerful vocals by Geddy. After Geddy sings "Let the fray begin" is it legal what Alex and Neil do with their instruments???!! Did I mention that Alex Lifeson is the greatest guitarist "ever"?? I don't feel I should have to brag about the Professor. Anybody who doesn't realize that Neil Peart is the greatest drummer "ever" doesn't know talent and there is no hope for them anyway. After a very powerful WHOOO YEAHHHH I don't know what happened. I have never heard RUSH play like that. Outstanding!! However, after listening to the song the wheels began to turn. I can't help but wonder if there were problems that really exsisted between Geddy and Alex. After reading the credits it is revealed that Alex is SNOW DOG and Geddy is BY-TOR. This is where the wheels started turning. After listening to that song I noticed that almost all RUSH pictures of the group consists of Neil being in the middle. Is Neil Peart the peacekeeper of RUSH?? Anyway, great cd and thanks for the advice. Again, it rocks!!!
Hello Rush faithful, Me and my buds were on the way back from the concert last night and were pondering about what were Rush's best instrumentals. It really is tough to narrow them down. Here is what I came up with for my all time favorite Rush Instrumentals. 1. LaVilla Strangiato (Hemispheres) 2. Where's my thing? Part 4 gangster of boats trilogy (Roll the Bones) 3.YYZ (Moving Pictures) 4.The Main Monkey Business (Snakes and Arrows) 5.Overture (2112)
If you would like to ponder on this subject and tell me your favorites, I'd love to hear 'em. Rock on Rush faithful
