	sewing a jacket/top from a pashmina scarf Today, I saw in a resale shop, a beautiful little top/jacket made from a folded pashmina scarf. 	New to this group Hello to my fellow sewing fanatics! I love all kinds of sewing but specialize in designing and making custom bridal/special occasion gowns. Due to the needs of my clients I realized how difficult it was for people to find fine quality bridal laces and fabrics so I started offering my items to the Ebay community. It has been a pleasure to become acquainted with other sewing friends all over the world. Some are dressmakers, designers, doll lovers and they are very talented and creative. 	New to Neighborhood!!! :P I have just one little problem, about my singer sewing machine... It knots on the bottom of my fabric, when i pull the fabric through :( Is it broken? 	Oiling your sewing machine.....tips? I don't sew like I used to.....now I sew mainly crafts and clothing repair so only use my machine a couple times a month. It's been a long time since I've oiledl my machine. It seems to be working ok but I've long ago misplaced my manual. The thing I hated the most is it seemed the oil hung around for a long time, getting on the fabric so I always ran scrap fabric through the feed until I was sure there would be no more damage. I have a 25 year old Kenmore, just straight and a few decorative stitches, but it is attached to an old cabinet, so to take in for servicing means quite a bit of work....since it's not portable. 	CALLING ALL DOLL SEAMSTRESSES!!!! Hello = ) I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and am in desperate need of a good doll seamstress that can make clothing for antique dolls with vintage and newer materials. Looking for the classic vintage look, Victorian, Edwardian in style, mostly child patterns with occasionally French Fashion looks. If all you can do is the basic dress and underpinnings that's fine, I can always to the finishing touches on the outfits. Right now I have a German child doll, 18 inches looking to be outfitted. 	Hey All - Check out these great hem clips! Hi all, Havent been here for a while, but I recently got in some more of my favorite hem clips and I wanted to let you know they are up for sale. I love these cause they have easy to read inch and cm measurements and they are wide enough to be very easy to handle, even when your hands are full with the fabric. They make a great "pinless" way to hold delicate fabrics such as silks that would run or catch when using conventional pins.
