Webkinz: Discussions

Has any one ou there delved into the Webkinz world and become a junkie, just loving the time on the computer and enjoying playing the games???

I had found out about a week or more ago the following are retired. Ganz has not fully updated there site with this information. This is confirmed from more than one reputable source. Retailers trying to order these you can not, and some orders have been shorted.

Albino Horse ( Aug release)
Toucan
Crocodile
Leopard Lizard
Samoyed
Rhino
Elephant
Beagle
Collie
tiger Snake

The dragon is still discontinued but not retired. I think they are looking to find a less expensive way of making it. Its very hush hush, for now no one can order any. There is a cocoa dinosauer hitting stores this week coming.

Alot the above webkinz can be found on ebay, and bigger hallmark stores still have alot of some. I personally have only seen 2 toucans in my travels, and each store varied. One had a ton of Crocodiles but no samoyeds or rhinos. Another had a few samoyeds and rhinos but none of the beagle collie or older ones. Both the Crocs, toucan, Samoyed and rhino are very interesting to have been retired since they were released and then retired. The albino has been retired before it was even released. Nuts

Okay, I'm fairly new to this "Webkinz" craze but since I have a 10 year old, she helps me learn alot. This is what I heard so please tell me if you have a clue on what is going on in the retail market with the charms. As you know they are not being sold "in the public" anymore. My Hallmark manager/friend told me that they were pulled because of some lead in them and they are trying to re-make them without the lead of course. So if that is true then one of the only ways to buy these charms would be on eBay. My thinking is that I need to buy all I can since these will be considered the "originals"...I feel like I'm back in the Beanie Baby craze. Thanks for any info you have on these charms. I really want a Unicorn but don't want to sell my house to get one!

Hi, I have been selling Webkinz mystery auctions for awhile and had to go through the strict E-Bay wording policy until I finally got it right. However, now I just got a notice that Ganz has flagged my account/auctions and that I am not allowed to sell using the Webkinz name because it is a copyright infringement. I'm not sure if this means mystery auctions only or anything that is Webkinz. The notice that I got looks like it is against Ganz policy to allow the Webkinz name to be used to sell anything Webkinz unless you are an authorized seller and jump through all the hoops that goes with it. I am a casual seller and just trying to clear out the remainder of my inventory. I was planning to sell in regular auction format, but worry that my account will be suspended now that Ganz has flagged it. Has anyone else had this kind of problem?
