Hello! How many of you all have had a great increase of sales by offering your shipping overseas? I just need to know the positives and negatives of international shipping before I take on this venture. I keep reading how offering international shipping will increase traffic to my site, but I want to be as informed as I can to be able to offer the best customer service.
Also why is it that some sellers only offer shipping to certain countries? Are some countries more profitable or is shipping just a hassle to certain locations? Thank you so much.
I can really use any advice you can give me.

I know there is a lot of good advice from this group so I would like to ask for some of it.

I am thinking about adding international shipping for the holidays. I have looked at the places to add it in listings, Ebay help, etc. But none of it makes any sense to me. I have my listings set up as 1 standard USPS 1st Class shipping rate with a discount for additional items. So how is the best way to add international? How do I know what to charge? How do I show it in listings, etc.? Do I ship everywhere or just certain countries? PLEASE HELP!

Okay - I whined and complained so much about the negs were left for me that -- no doubt to appease me -- they (the powers that be) gave me a link to an ebay page that gives you - seller OR buyer - the opportunity to make suggestions to improve Ebay --- policies, site appearance, links and access, flow, etc.

To those of you who ship internationally, what method of shipping do you normally use? I usually offer only have international priority or international express shipping. Just sold something last week to someone in australia...they paid for priority international (I charged $25, the cost was $23); and they gave me a bad shipping DSR :( Bummer....it has been my experience that these two shipping methods are the safest; I have shipped first class internationally, but seems like there was no insurance, or maybe it was that there was just no tracking. Thoughts?

Hi! Figure this would be a great place to ask a question I've had for a few months.

A lot of the vintage items we sell are big in certain countries, while not so big in others. It really depends on the style and where it's "big" at sometimes. I've received some bad feedback from an individual from the UK, claims his item never arrived (two leather Members Only jackets). There was also a chargeback for the item, in excess of $100.

What are the best shipping methods used by you guys? Is there a way to combat the growing amount of phony bidders?

I really don't want to stop shipping internationally, but it seems like the only way. It seems many others are having the same go at things.

How International Selling Works Today
eBay’s global marketplace opens the door to international business for many sellers. Traditionally, US sellers who want to attract buyers in the UK and elsewhere have had two options:

1) They can list on eBay.com and choose World Wide Shipping or other international shipping options. In this scenario, their items only show up on another international site in the few cases when buyers specifically look for international items using Advanced Search features.

Or –

2) They can create a separate listing on another international eBay site (and pay all the same fees that other sellers pay to list there).

Coming Soon: International Site Visibility Listing Upgrade

In May, we’re giving sellers who list on US and Canada sites a better option for international exposure by introducing the International Site Visibility listing upgrade. With this listing upgrade, sellers will be able to list on their local site and pay a small upgrade fee so that their listing also shows up in the main default search results to buyers across the Atlantic on eBay.co.uk – two sites for a great price.

In the US, the fees to use this optional upgrade are as follows:

Data shows that depending on the category and start-price, it only takes one or two extra bids from international buyers to make up the cost of the International Site Visibility fee.

For PowerSellers, using this feature also ensures that these UK sales are counted towards their Final Value Fee discounts.

At launch, the International Site Visibility listing upgrade will only be available for eBay UK, eBay Ireland, eBay Canada and eBay.com. Good morning everyone, newbie here,

Running hubbie to work this morning I had no regular coffee mate for my coffee, and I don't like milk in my coffee. So the only thing I had was one of those International Delight creamers, one of those I saw at the store and thought mmmmmmm that looks different. OH MY talk about wake up with a sweet kick in the behind! I like Mocha's, especially Starbucks, but WOW this Creamer was sweet, if you like sweet coffee and you haven't tried the Marshmallow Mocha Creamer, then this is certainly one for you.
