I just love all the retro and fun aprons available in the stores now and I have even made one for myself and sold a few I've made, but, truth be told, most times when I'm cooking, I forget to put my apron on! I usually revert back to my old habits of wiping my hands on a dishtowel and letting the cooking splatters fall where they may.

I was wondering if any of you are putting an apron on each time you step up to the oven or stove, or are you like me and forget you have an apron (or just too lazy to put it on)?

We lost our beloved 10 yr. old Golden Retriever, Samantha, two years ago. She never let on that she was ill. She had slowed down some in recent months, but we thought that it was due to her age. Anyway, she became obviously ill on a Friday, and we went to the vet. They did blood work and said that they would have results on Saturday. No results came back. She became worse on Sunday and we took her to an emergency clinic. They ran tests and said that she had lymphoma. She died two days later. We hadn't had time to absorb the fact that she was so seriously ill, before we lost her. We have two other wonderful and very much adored Goldens, yet, it is still difficult to think about or talk about Samantha, without being reduced to tears, even two years after her passing. Just writing this has me reaching for the tissue box. Is there anyone out there who is going through similar heartache...

I make little kitchen angels from wash cloths with fabric sewn on for the skirt and ribbons for wings. Each one has it's own personality and theme. I hot glue a heavy duty magnet to their back to hang them on the fridge and also a ribbon hanger to hang them on the wall. I had a couple of people order them for Christmas tree ornaments last year.

What's your favorite food/s & what memories do you associate with them?

Well, my favorite food is usually fresh bread - sour dough, French, Rye, you name it. Though my favorite food can change. Its hard to narrow a choice down to a single food and it does change with the season too. But in general, I think that I could easily live on bread and chocolate.

Last week I made an apple crisp. It was definitely my favorite food while it lasted. Reminded me of being home with my mom and the smell of the cinnamon wafting out of the oven as her apple crisp baked. Its a comfort food, that and home made apple sauce are among my favs this time of year.
