Hello everyone this is my first post!I could not help myself I had to share a story with you.I am living in the country with large open areas in between homes.My home is one of the lower areas around .I have a built up area that extends around the back yard and garden area(I moved here 4 years ago)It is hard to maintain and keep the weeds from growing .I have started planting hollyhocks there in hopes one day they will take it over.Every year I have tried planting different plants in my vegetable garden,some are successful some are not.Last year I had watermelons and pumpkins the pumpkins failed due to the weather after the seeds went out.The watermelons went in later and developed.I have a friend who helps me ,"Frazier".
I have a need to keep my upper body strength up due to an injury so I decided to hang a Pilote ball in a large tree ,My grand son comes over and we bat it back and forth.Towards the end of the season I could not get out that much.The wind blew the ball down .I knew it had but it landed in the tall growth and I knew it could not escape.I was not aware Frazier was keeping an eye out for you guessed it pumpkins .One day I was sitting back and thought I would check to see how he was fairing in the garden .As I stepped off my porch ands took a step out I could see him heading towards this ball, I thought great it needs to come out as the sun started to fade it at that moment he turns looks at me with wild crazy eyes and moves faster towards it .Just as he is about 3 foot away He turned and Said I thought I had just found one of our pumpkins.I laughed and laughed "That big" I said later" boy it was one of those miracle pumpkins !",well we have yet to eat it .I told him we should wait until it turns darker orange!Share some of your funny story's here!What could you find?
