Matrix guns are the marketing name for Evike or magicclub, they are usally Jing Gongs or other Chinese guns that have been given a tune up but not a real upgrade. I would suggest checking out other vendors, as magicclub or Evike has a very inconsistent customer service reputation. While E-bay is a good place to find some deals on airsoft guns and gear, there are better and safer avenues. e-mail me at tommcd41@hotmail.com and I'll send you a list of reliable vendors that I myself and my airsoft team have used.
It really depends on who you buy it from. If your looking into the mp5k i can tell you that it is a rather reliable gun and is definatly a good starter. But as any experianced airsofter will tell you your real deal is getting a gun like a tokyo marui, or classic army, or g&g. These guns will last you a lot longer and tend to be much more reliable than guns such as jg and matrix.
That said if your looking for your first gun you cant go wrong with the echo 1 series
mfp8831, you realize that most of the Echo1 guns are re-branded JG, right? All Echo1 does is do a quick QA inspection on them, and in some cases up or downgrade the spring.
Their M14 EBR is made by Kart Their M249's are A&K
I have nothing against Echo1, I actually have a few of them in my collection. Just didn't understand why you were saying that JG wouldn't last, and then in the next sentence were saying that you can't go wrong with Echo1...
