I have been doing some extensive research on Airstreams for a bit now and have found the vintage ones may be affordable for my wife and I, yet due to the amount of student loans I have.... We are unable to obtain financing.
Thus, I am going to put this out there for some goodhearted Airstream seller who may wish to sell their Airstream between 3K and 5K which is in usable condition that may need minor upgrades/repairs.
We have about $1200 to put down as a deposit/down-payment and would like to pay it off over a period of 6 to 12 months, depending on the final sales price.
The item would be able to sit right where it is and we would make the payments to an escrow company (protecting us) which would dispurse the funds once final amount is collected. We would then pick up the Airstream upon final payment. In between making payments I would request that my wife and I hold the keys so we could make trips to upgrade the unit while making payments...

In the meantime, we will continue to save and hopefully we will be able to purchase one by the end of the summer this year or spring of next year (2008/2009)....
Looks like we found one! Wooooowhoooo... It is a 1978 AS Soverign in mint condition, no dents, new aluminum rims and new tires, minor repair needed such as peeling off the wall covering in and around the bathroom and putting up new sticky stuff.. lol...

This gentleman and his wife are awsome! They agreed to finance us and give us a great deal on this baby. Paid only $5,800 for it and we will be picking the item up in July.
We are now officially Airstreamers and cant wait to get our new baby out for a test run.
