Standard Radio went out of business several years (actually many) ago. They were, in my humble opinion, simply the best on the market and advanced for their day.
I have both the dual band mobil and the dual band handheld. I am looking for anyone that has any Standard Radios for sale - I especially am looking for a CMP843 Remote Control Microphone. I am also looking for extension cables.
Please let me know if you or any other ham you has any Standard Radio gear they want to get rid of.
I have to agree, they were among the best. I had a Heath dual band portable made by Standard and regret ever selling it. The same goes for my twin band mobile that could be completely remote controlled from the included display mic.
Standard was purchased by Yaesu and became Vertex Standard I believe. If I'm right about that, it's all part of Motorola now (not a good thing IMHO).
