HELP- Does anyone out there have an easy way to remove a doll wig? I always dress several 18" basket case dolls for disadvantaged kids for Christmas and hate the work of removing the dried out crimped up abused hair to replace it. Hope there's someone who can help me.
Since no one else has responded, I'll give it a shot.
Since I've never had the nerve to remove a wig myself, I can't speak from experience, but do recall reading a post that mentioned using a spoon to help ease it off the scalp.
When least expecting it, i've also run across helpful directions on dolls (and other subjects) on U-tube. Sometimes have to view them several times, but as often is the case, because I'm a "visual learner," sometimes it's even easier to understand instructions via a "live" demo after readaing printed instructions.
There are several websites with detailed instructions on doll repair, including wig removal. I've done it once on an AG doll and it was easy using a spoon with the bottom facing towards you rather than the doll. If you can heat it somewhat with a hair dryer, that will soften the old glue and make it easier. Slowly work around the edge, then you can simply pull. Hope this helps.
