Standard dvd cases, or thin-paks?

My whole shelf is filled with standard regular sized dvd anime collections, and now everything is being made into thin-paks and box sets. I, myself prefer the regular dvd cases and the collectors artbox, which makes it look more interesting. The thin-paks and box sets don't do justice to my collection. Does anyone else agree?

I agree completely :). The manufacturers save money by using these new styles of cases and non custom box sizes make shipping easier as well as standardized. The one exception to this for me is the tri-fold boxes. They often have great art on the inside and outside. as well as take up a bit less space on the shelf.

It sounds as if your collection looks something like mine :) More of a historical / museum type display rather then a shelf of uniform CD / DVD cases.

Have a great night!

I am going to have to disagree I think the art is just as nice on the thin pack box sets. And the fact that I can get a entire series a thin package is a great convience for me since i dont have a whole lot of room for a bunch of huge box sets I just keep them with the rest of my collection real nice and neat like.

Living in a small aprtment I prefer anything that saves me space, boxsets are nice, but take up too much space, I prefer thinpacks.

I agree Looked forward to the art boxes to hold the regular disc cases. I couldn't care how much extra space they take up lol But i do find its mostly the thin pacs after the first release
