Hi, Many sub-labeled machine brands were built in Japan by Toyota and afew other Co`s Labels like Royal, Ford, Gimbells, Maceys, Belvedere, etc. They were also of generally good quality as well, I have an old Montgomery-Ward "Signarture" machine made in Japan and the underside, cast iron, has the word "HAPPY" cast into its housing!!
