Ive recently purchased a singer-201 and I dont know how I ever lived w/o such a quiet, smooth, reliable, forgiving machine (its turned me into a top-bobbin connosuir for-sure) I enjoy machine-sewing again!! And your favorite is ??
Have an old 1962 Pfaff 360, and wouldn't trade it for anything. It has run many miles, and all materials. Also have 2 treadles. One a 1919 and one in the 40's. My mom had an old 1900 treadle and when she wanted perfect stitches, she brought it out. I learned to sew on it in the 50's. There's a lot to be said for the oldies. They just last longer--made to last--made of better stuff!!
i love my singer feather weight, have used pro pfaffs etc but love my old singer my gramma bot it new when grappa worked as a singer rep in the early thirties. dont know how many outfits and curtains an sheets and pillows its made but runs like a song
I recently purchased a 1910 Singer treadle sewing machine. Actually, I have one cabinet and TWO treadle heads! I had purchased a 1911 machine in a cabinet years ago, and long story short, the cabinet got ruined. I had the head to that table spruced up, and it is in great shape. I have placed that head in the new cabinet. Does anyone know if there is a market for the treadle head without the cabinet?
