Buyers requesting more information after the Sale?

I have recently sold a purse, how after the bidding has ended and it looks like it is a done deal. The buyer wants photos and has questions. Doesn't this usually happen prior to buying? I will send the photos and answer any questions buyers send me, but is this odd or not?

Yes, this is definitely odd. I have not experienced this one...one thing you could do in the future (don't know if you did this or not) is mention in your listing to please ask questions PRIOR to bidding. Most people should know this already, but it doesn't hurt to mention it. Sounds like they may have "Buyers Remorse"....which at most Auction houses, there are no returns for this. Unless they think your item was mis-represented(?), or are trying to find a reason to say that it's so & cancel the sale(?). Hopefully they will still buy the purse & all will be fine. If not, and they wish to cancel the sale...you can both agree to do so amicably & I believe you will both still be able to leave positive feedback for eachother. Then, you can relist the purse.

Hope it helps! Good luck!

yes today I did get the email from the buyer stating that I couldn't get back to her with photos in a timely fashion and doesn't want the purse any more. So I am attempting to cancel this through ebay. But I think you are right about the buyer remorse. Just doesn't have the cash. Sellers beware of this...I do have that stated any additional photos or questions please contact me. I would think doing it before the sale is final is kind of a given thing you do before paying for something. But it is odd that she didn't get the second email, but got the first one. But no worries i just wished she hadn't wasted my time and serious buyers out there.

That is very frustrating!! 99.9% of buyers are really nice & know what to do & that other .1% can drive you to drink!! lol I had someone buy something recently and then, with no communication attempt made to me...gave negative feedbacks on multiple purchases! The worst part was that what they were complaining about was clearly mentioned & described in the listing! They just never READ the listing, only the title! =\ Luckily, when I asked them to go back & read the listings, and proved that the items were NOT misrepresented, they took back the negatives! Phew! Guess they don't realize how hard we work for our 100% ratings! (And to boot...we cannot even zap them with a negative in return anymore! Even when THEY're the one who's being unreasonable...). Oh well, it all worked out. Hope your's does too!

i am completely new here. my question regarding this is once your item is received, is it possible or acceptible to contact the seller to obtain more information about the item. or should that also be done prior to buying it?

I have to rant a bit, sorry.
It used to be that if this happened you could give them the negative feedback that they deserve but now with ebays "Improved" system you cannot, you will have to jump through hoops to even get your commission returned from ebay. I wouldn't let them off the hook with an amicable agreement. You need to at least get them a bid retraction strike to warn other ebay sellers. This could cost you a neg feedback from the buyer which ebay will not retract. Sellers are at a huge disadvantage now, they should just do away with the feedback system now that it means nothing. If you are strictly a buyer you will have 100% feedback no matter how many sellers you burn. All you can do is kiss butt and hope you don't get a negative. I guess the safe thing to do is you have to be careful and let them off the hook for the sale or the idiot who bought your purse will slander your good name while you are helpless to retaliate or respond. When people are looking at someone's feedback, they tend to not look at positive feedbacks they look for the Negs. I have a neg on my feedback which I got just trying to get my commission returned, which I never got. Thanks Ebay. I have been here 11 years now and every year its worse, and I am anticipating that the worst is yet to come. Too many cooks I guess. Good luck
