the ebay boom is definatly over i was holding my own all last summer and then during the holiday season it got real slow so this year i don't plan on buying too much christmas or halloween items people aren't buying that stuff anymore only certian items so ill stick with more unique items
I would say it's been quieter overall but not all that bad of late. I think the summertime offers so many antique shows and flea markets that people would rather shop outside while the cooler colder weather encourages more shopping at home. I usually start all my auctions a .99 with no reserve and that seems to attract a lot of watchers/bidders upfront that follow through to the end. Prices certainly not as high as 4 years ago but still high enough to make it worthwhile.
My sales are doing so,so, but they're picking up, I have watchers on everything that I put out. It may be what your selling, try rearranging your items, taking pic differently, and wording them differently, that may work. but i see a big boost in sales when winter gets here.
Hello, I lost my "JOB" and started antiquing with 3 brick and mortar places. One in PA and 2 in GA. Then opened my eBay store (one month this week). Sales are slow and I am just selling enough items in all 4 places to cover the cost. Speaking with others the economy is just taking its toll on us all. I focus try to focus on unique items and buy items that I believe I can sell at lower prices. Learning the eBay store I am using "testing" auctions, sales, buy now and fixed pricing to see what trends work best. Yet to discover the best. It seems items that do sell are more "unique" items that are more rare or hard to find. ... I don't feel it's what "we" are all selling as much as the "economy" is just beating us all up and people are going to buy only what they "need". With less to spend I am taking a hit on the profit to focus on lower prices ... I am trying to follow the Wal-Mart business model of selling on volume. I took a visited your store and noticed you have good items but not a lot over items ... A friend who has a store told me that their key was offering many items ... they have on average 800 items in their store, so I am building my inventory almost daily. It is difficult to build up when things are slow, but I am trying to offer many items as possible to get traffic and appeal to visitors as having many items as a source to visit later too. Good luck! Richard
I think its all the changes on ebay just because I am not a top rated seller on here I can not purchase a $100.00 dollar listing that is not fair because I always pay on time . They are still making changes some of us have lost our exposure my 30 day feedback was up to 600 at one point that is all gone . I am so disappointed.
