Does anyone know the best way to tell if an item is silver or silverplate short of it saying sterling? I have some william Rogers pieces that have a star on one side and a bird on the other of the name. What are their meaning and where is the best place to get this info on vintage pieces. Thank you!
There is a website called The Online Encyclopedia of American Silver Marks. You can also search on Replacements Ltd. where you can identify pieces buy the mark and pattern. Good luck. vintagepeddler08
