Company History
Tom Kasner has more than 43 years of experience in the field of consumer and electronics repair. He served in the Navy for 20 years as an electronic test equipment repair and certification specialist. While in the Navy, he developed a training program for the NEW IBM Personal Computers.
He worked as a computer programmer, writing software for businesses, and provided technical assistance to other computer users company wide.
Kasner Electronics was founded in 1972 as a consumer electronics repair business. The primary focus at the time was color television, VCRs, radio repair. Many tasks required design of new devices or concepts.
Computers started to come into the marketplace about 1975, and Tom took the business in the direction of computer enhancement and repair. He became the President of The Apple Corps of San Diego (a club for Apple // computer users) in 1987, untill it closed Nov '99.
Tom knows there are many types of computers and he has provided repair, and upgrade support to three platforms...
Apple //, Macintosh, and IBM PC compatibles. He built custom configurations of the PC to meet his customers exacting needs. He provides board level repair (micro min.) services to damaged (non-replaceable) computer and other main boards. He holds public and private classes / tutoring on computer related tasks. He feels that if a computer performs a needed task or function, that it is not an obsolete system....ed.
