Look on the internet under "galleries/________" (your state goes in the blank) and also "fairs." Generally speaking, they will want an official entry form and a minimum of 25 pieces, especially for new artists.

In having been approved, there is a split, usually 60% to you and 40% to the festival or gallery. This is a great way to gain publicity and prestige.

Good luck, don't quit and above all, sound like you know what you're talking about when you approach the curators.

First off you need to know that as soon as eBay sees the link in your listings that sends people to an off eBay site, all of your listing will come down.

Second, there is only one retail price on your art work. It is very unprofessional to hang your art in a gallery at one price and then list it on eBay (or sell it anywhere else) at a lessor price (less the gallery commission).

That will sooner or later catch up with you and you will destroy any collector value. If you continue to do that you will find yourself sooner or later limited to selling at flea markets and low quality galleries at best.

You are much better off pricing your art at a fair price and pay the gallery commissions and listing your work on eBay for the exact same price.

Those gallery sales will drive the value of your art much higher directly related to the success you have. When you retail on eBay or anywhere else for less you are compromising the work the gallery is doing for you.

As for getting more bids on eBay, not likely. Even eBay is admitting that the auctions are not working as well as they once did and they are going rapidaly to more fix priced selling.
