Like many of you I recently bought an ATV off ebay. Its not bad does need a little TLC. But so far I haven't been able to find any repair manuals or much in the way of help. The dealers don't seem to know much about what they sell and I understand they are merchants not mechanics. So I have started a forum for these machines it is a free club where owners can help each other out with these ATVs. I hope ebay will let me post this here as it will prove to be a big help to many who purchase these from ebay sellers. The link to the site is.
I purchased a Chinese ATV from a dealer on e-bay. rived and I completed assembly. It started immediately. I drove it off the skid and it quit running. After trying everything I could think of, I took it to a good mechanic who discovered a naked wire against the frame. Brought it home and attempted to drive it up the hill to my house, but it suddenly stopped and reved up. I cut it off immediately because I knew it must be the clutch. Back to mechanic and surprise, it was the clutch. Sent clutch to their Texas parts center for replacement. That was 3 weeks ago. Throughout the entire process the dealer has been of no help. In addition I have a growing bill for labor (the dealer only supplies parts). I paid for this thing 7 weeks ago and still have not been able to ride it. Any suggestions?
I just found this forum and think this is going to be a good thing. I bought my Atv 150-RD-4 off ebay in November 2007 and being a mechanic I still spent three days assembling and tightening - All bolts and checking all fluid levels and repairing missaligned mount bolt holes. So far I have had no problems with it, about 10hrs on it now. I am making some modifications to meet my needs. i.e. larger rear sprocket to slow it down and more torque. I am 54 years old and don't need to go fast. Anyone out there have a bump steer problem? Thanks everyone.
i Just got 250 phoenix maybe u can help me.. for some reason when i get it started and i put it in 1st then i start to release the cluth i start to move alittle, the it jumps forward the dies out this is my 1st atv and could use some help since for some reason the atv does not come with a owners manual, so am up in the dark.. i turned on the fuel underneath the tank , now al told me"the dealer" theres another one near the carb which if there is i don't see it. i need a new battery but thats not the problem when i get it started, just cant get it to move .. any help would be great.. thanks

first thing first loktight everything, make sure everything is connected, change all oil, fluids and check brakes esp. on a used bike i need a new intake manifold not having any probs except for smoke coming out near engine. this is a christmas gift so if I can fix before i will.
