I added the OEM RNS-E unit to my 2001 A6 avant back in 2005 and it is one of my favorite upgrades.
Also, I build plug/play wiring harnesses that allow you to incorporate the RNSE with OEM sirius or XM, OEM Bluetooth, Ipod, A/V interfaces etc so you can easily install the RNSE into your car by yourself -- and take all the guess work out of it.
