I have found a great cleaner to use on the vintage straight leg Barbie family of dolls. It's called Krud Kutter. I found it at my local Sears parts store. I've only used it on the dolls legs. I had a Midge and her legs were almost black with dirt. I poured the Krud Kutter on her legs and it took the dirt right off. What didn't get removed by pouring it on, I used the Krud Kutter on a qtip and rubbed the tough spots a little bit and the stuff came off.

All of the sears parts stores by me have gone out of business :( but I will keep this in mind in case I ever am near that store again. I've been lucky so far and the dolls usually clean up with some astringent or bubble bath.
