Hello Littlecagey, even though it would be in order to get rid of your
collection now, it really is a harsh time to go about it, though if you
had someone who would be willing to trade your collection for some-
thing they had of equal value, that may be the route you could choose.
I have millions of cards, though I am passionate about my collecting,
I had come across a painting that I very much wanted and did some
trading with a few cards to get it, and the gentleman was very happy
with what I traded him for it, so maybe this is something you could
consider at this time seeings that are economy is in shambles, and
not too many people have money to spend or want to spend on cards.
If this helps you at all, then that's great, but do not be taken advantage
off by those individuals who seem to think they can scam innocent
folks out of their valuables, for this is common practice nowadays,
anyways have a good day and good luck, RB!!!

Hi littlecagey.

I hope this message finds you well.

I am also new to this site and I buy, sell and collect cards. If you wish to get rid of some and make some extra cash you can also email me here or to carddealer6056@yahoo.com. If you have a Beckett price book it would be helpful to you as well.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you and I surely hope you fell well soon.

Hello - I agree with the first response. Most shops will only pay a small value because they want them to resell at a profit - some are collectors - but most want to buy very low. There are too many people willing to rip off (ie pay "way" below a fair price) folks in your situation. If you talk to enough people, you'll get a ballpark of what they may pay and then you can make a decision. It would help to know a more precise number for the cards. They don't have to be too organized - just put them in a hobby box that have a specific # of cards in each and try to get the years and sports organized. A more organized seller brings higher value sometimes. Most folks pay so many cents per card in a lot, and it would help to know that number. Hope this helps.

I have been collecting and buying sports cards and such for a very long time. In an honest opinion from someone who does not want you to sell you cards to them, cards from the 80's and 90's just aren't worth much more than a few cents each (with a limited number of exceptions). There are a good number of cards from the 70's that are worth 20-30 dollars and a few more worth a little more than that. In my honest opinion I would find someone that I know that is interested in starting a collection of thier own and give them to that person. In all reality it would not be worth the effort to sort out thousands of cards for the rare gem you might find. There might also be consignment shops in your area that area willing to divide and sell you cards for you, but at a high % of what is earned of hte lots.
