when the mini series was being shown - wizkids was giving away sealed "demo decks" consisting of 32 cards (16 per side) to alert players to the upcoming release of their product - these cards were distributed at (at least 3) scifi conventions (one in texas, one in new york and one in seattle washington) - these demos allowed players a brief look at the mechanics of the game --- here is a list of the cards included

fixed set - starter decks were released as a 62 card deck these decks were intended to allow players a wider range of cards to use in the game - 10 were identified as fixed and were incorporated into the base set (giving the final total - 175 cards) the fixed cards were 004 - colonial one (released as foil) 008 - galactica (released as foil) 027 - fire support 039 - presidential candidate 077 - investigation 087 - press junket 127 - laura roslin / madame president 142 - william adama/ patriotic soldier 147 - colonial viper 113 163 - raptor 101

new guy night giveaway - wizkids also provided a card to dealers to encourage new players to join the BSG game family - card was non-foil - it was starbuck/Best Pilot In The Fleet - bsg 004 ex and all you needed to do was show up to receive it

when the BSG first season DVD was released - one of three of the ccg/tcg cards were included (later these promo cards were switched with three cards from the very nicely done "Rittenhouse" (movie cards - not related to the ccg/tcg) product line) - they are extremely hard to find as a sealed item - they are Apollo/lee adama le 01/12 number six/agent prov le 09/12 (black dress) starbuck / hot shot pilot le 11/12
at the release of the games - dealers were provided with one sealed card to be given away as (strictly) a promo item - it was cylon centurion 001/200

Wizkids base set ads - there were two different ads - a black and white card with pictures of base set expansion packs (1-adama and apollo and 2- six)and a short promo paragraph - back of cards was white blank - this was released as sealed promo with the 3 DVD cards and william adama / wounded warrior card and a red highlighted card with the picture of galactica under the banner "battlestar GALACTICA" - short promo paragraph -back of card was white blank - this card was released with the remaining 5 promo cards.
wizkids announced a convention bonus card - an alternate art version of Kara "starbuck" Thrace / viper pilot - card was also announced as a prize for the "venue supported constructed event" for June 8-15 /06
an alternate art version of "Centurion defender" was also announced as a prize for the "venue supported constructed event" for June 23-30 /06

a bonus card - a redemption card for an autographed Nicki Clyne card was inserted in random boxes and limited to 500 copies - you had to mail it to Wizkids and they sent you a signature card autographed by Nicki Clyne as "Cally" - obviously both these cards are extremely hard to find
