Ok, so I have the Pearl and I am having issues and I am not sure if it is the phone or sprint. First off the phone erases my information such as text messages, blackberry messages and phone calls before I can get to them. I took my phone to the sprint store and he told me to do the alt lglg and clear the log, then they told me to buy a bigger micro media card which I did and my phone is still doing it, just not as often. Ok, secondly my battery runs out really fast and that all just depends on the day because some days are better than others. One day I had to charge my phone 4 different times and I hadn't even talked on it but maybe 5 minutes. I am keeping up with erasing the text messages (unless it does it for me) to save the battery, but that doesn't help. And last, I don't get phone calls during certain times of day. I can call out, but anybody trying to call me gets my voicemail right off the bat. Does anyone else have these issues? I was also thinking of switching to the Curve, any suggestions?
I just purchased the same phone, also from Sprint, and I am having the same issues. And my husbands Pearl, which he has had for like a year never did this, until I activated mine on the account, now they both do them at the same time everytime. I almost wonder if it has something to do with the Blackberry messenger...A customer Service rep told me to turn it off, take the battery out, put the battery back in and that would fix it. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. As far as bettery life, it sounds like you live/work in an area that you phone is "roaming" a lot..."roaming" drains your battery really really fast. in your settings you could change the data (email/text) so that it turns off when you are roaming...it helps a little but not much. You also may have the phone set so that you dont receive phone calls when you are roaming...maybe that option is turned on?
Go into your messages folder, hit the BlackBerry button and select options. Go into general options and go down to "Confirm Delete" and change that to "Yes" and change "Keep Messages" to "Forever", that will solve your problems with it auto deleting your things. Your text messages aren't going to slow the phone down a whole lot. As the other guy said your battery life is largely dependent on your terrain and distance from tower. Do you have email accounts set up? Are you constantly streaming data? (BB Messenger, Pandora etc)
What the battery pull does is clear out the phones cache, basically like restarting a computer. The problem will persist though until you change some settings on your phone or change the way you use it.
