The electronics are truley alot more expensive BUT they are alot better, I just bought a new boat and put real nice GPS Fishfinder on it and was amazed about the detail on the gps it has a navtronics chip in it and you can literally go by it alone a buddy and I put in one mornig and it was still very foggy, by using the GPS we were able to go across the lake and start fishing not having to wait for the fog to lift, and the fishfinder is awsome backlit like a computer so you can see it (no glare) well worth th $500
