In Search of Some Help...I recently was given a 16 Ft fishing boart with a 1977 johnson sea horse, 55hp. the motor runs great, but the lower unit was froze up, and stripped the gears and broke the rod...I am looking for a lower unit for this motor... it is a 20 in shaft. been unable to find a used one on ebay so far....Are any other lower ends compatable ? any help would be so greatly appreciated. Doesn't say what shaft length but I think the long shaft just put a spacer in the leg and used a longer drive shaft an water tube. The shaft and water tube should be easier to get than a whole lower unit. It may actually be from a 20" engine
