i got a evinrude 10 hp outboard i need to find the year of it all i have is s/n 10024-01142 where can i find info on it i need to know how to mix the oil in the gas

depends on the oil used 50 to 1 in most cases .Its on the back of the oil container

hey mate rooster here if you give this guy a ring his name is mal the buisiness is CREEK MARINE he is old shcool and he know's what he is talking about his old man before him in the same shop so he grew up in the shop good mechanic 0733541475 pickering street alderly between supercheap and cop shop out the back same side as S C but just call him that goes for anything he will help you out and he charges fairly for any work but this will def be free good luck

Regarding MODEL ID

http://maxrules.com/fixparts.html will give you engine ID.

You will find it under Tech Specifications or Tech Assistance ( both will lead to Model Year Guides)

Yours is a 1962 model.

Funny you should ask... I just bought a boat with that motor on it - and have gone through h3ll trying to find out what it was as ALL tags are gone. You've got a 1962 Sportwin 10HP Evinrude Cut and paste link below into your browser - link for the 60's will take you to a table where lower half shows Evinrudes by serial and the year of manufacture. Check his misc section too - lots of good info and links to other related sites. If you run into more problems with this one, drop me a line at ron_ruble@yahoo.com - I've got quite a few links amassed now concerning this motor, and can possibly be of more help.
