Hi, I see lots of Pyle systems on Ebay (never heard of them before) my stereo is a Claridon, but it's either underpowered or the speakers are bad cause when we're underway it hard to hear.
Any suggestions on something that's great quality yet inexpensive?!?
Thanks

There are many areas to consider when trying to fault check your stereo and make a recomendation for something that would perform the way you expect. First and formost the old addage applies 10 fold in the marine environment; you get what you pay for. Having said that the first course of action for you is to determine if your reciever is putting out as it is designed and if the speakers have disintegrated from exposure and then are the wires to the speakers large enough? In my humble opinion the Pyle systems are over priced and over rated. I would look for a good deal on a basic unit that has the power and water resistance needed in a marine environment. At least 200w total and you need to make sure you have a quality set of speakers capable of handling the output. You can find lower end Jensen systems for around $100.00 all the way up to Aquatics for $1000.00.

Multi-Environment Certifications
IP66 Exposed Nose Area
CFR46 Compliant
ASTM117 Salt Fog Compliant
ASTM D4329 UV Compliant
Nose Piece Seal/Transport Seal YES

Also what are you running for power package and how load is it? You might be better off investing in good sound proofing.
If you decide you need a new system and you have a make and model post here and I will see if I can get you a good price from my supplier. Good luck

you dont really have to get a marine stero unless it is always getting wet in my boat we use a pioneer and it is a ripper of a system and that only cost like 400 aud. it is one that you would normally just fit into a car
