I was cleaning out the garage at my parents house as Mom is getting ready to sell and came across Dads old ball it is a Tornado by Ebonite Now I know it to be 65 + years old. As to my Question are bowling balls considered to be antiques or collectors and if so can someone point me in the right direction. I have only bought things on E-bay and am not sure of the selling part. but do not know what to do with this ball. Thank You for any help you can give me.
HELLO, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KEEP THE BALL, YOU CAN HAVE IT RESURFACED. YOU CAN ALSO PLUG THE BALL AND HAVE IT RE-DRILLED TO FIT SOMEONE ELSE (PROVIDED THE ORIGINAL OWNER DOESN'T WANT TO USE IT ANYMORE). I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS AN ANTIQUE OR WHAT TO DO WITH IT. YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER (IF STILL IN BUSINESS) AND THEY MAY BE ABLE TO HELP YOU FURTHER.
Am 76 and have been a bowler sense I was about 9. I still bowl in league play and practice a couple times a week. Now to the ball. Todays lanes are not wood abd a ball much older than a couple years is about shot. The ball composition is not a good match for todays lanes. Could be used as a spare ball.
Hi, Most of the old bowling balls that are worth collecting would be made out of wood and at least 100 years old. I'm thinking that your Ebonite might just be a "rubber" ball and not worth much effort to sell, but now some of the pins from that era can go for much more. Hope this helps...
