I own a 1998 cadillac deville,135000 miles,recently I start having this problem, engine heats very fast, head gaskets been replaced,water pump, thermostat, radiator cap, as well, radiator been flush and clean, and still coolant temperature goes up to 250 degrees, some times it start going down to 196 degrees, but sometimes it keeps going up over 250. machanic said I need an engine, is he right?
Can any body help me?

Are the cooling fans activating? Another possiblity is a clogged water jacket in the block, defective temperature sensor for the fans or something causing advanced ignition timing.

I had that problem when the fan belt broke.
My present problem is the AC housing within the engine compartment is cracking apart in my 96 eldo, do you hav any knowledge about it?
