I'm almost 5 months pregnant, and I really need a good camcorder at a good price, to record all of the precious moments that happen after my baby arrives, that I never want to forget. If anyone has anything, you think I'd be interested in, please contact me...
Thanks!

It depends on your price range. If you can afford it, get a hard-drive camcorder, like the JVC GZ-MG130 (or one of the cameras listed here: http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp?productId=PRD1207000&pathId=119). However, if this is out of your budget, I would recommend the GR-D770 Mini-DV camcorder (shown here: http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp?productId=PRD1203000&pathId=26), also by JVC. JVC is a great company. I have been using JVC camcorders for the past 4 or 5 years (I am only 14) and I have never had a problem with them. I hope this helps, and congratulaions on the baby!

Hi,
I would recommend a Panasonic pv-gs 250. It's not the most current model, but it has more feature than the more recent versions that Panasonic has produced. Panasonic had 3CCD consumer camcorders on the market before any of the other brands, and have truly mastered color capture. Their camcorder image quality is really amazing. The only slight criticism is that you have to use supplementary lighting indoors when it's darker, but that's always a good idea anyway.

I'm not selling mine because I use it, but I saw that you can get one of these with hundreds of dollars worth of accessories for way less than I got mine used six months ago. Check out this sellers add, it looks like an awesome deal so far: 320172548411

Also, a few words of advice, don't use Sony mini DV tapes on anything but a Sony camcorder. (They use a lubricant that can gunk up the heads of other camcorders!) ;-)

Good luck with everything!

I just sold a Sony HD Handycam "still not paid for it" and I have had many camcorders in the past and find that the Sony has best light change features to adjust to light where others get to much glare and the picture is whited out to much.
Also the Sony Handycam HDR-HC3 which I am speaking of has better picture in darker scenes like on a stage like school plays ect.....
Plus the HD can make super DVDs with high definition where others fail.
It's just my past experience with camcorders that features of a HD camera is up to the times and DVD is here and VCR tapes are something of the past as of quality.
Basically saying, I would go for a high definition HD camcorder, but keep in mind bright light dim light conditions which brand will create and adjust to the light source best.

1) what price range are you looking at?
2) how much editing are you planning on doing? Are you a computer user who knows how to edit the video, or are you just planning on keeping it pretty much as is?
