Hi All, I see how knowledgeable you all are about cameras and was wondering if you can help me. I am a teacher who mostly uses the camera for classroom use and fun with friends. I need the best but smallest camera. I would like to start digital portfolios with the kids and it's coming out of my pocket and I am "ify" about which is the best quality and price. I normally buy Kodak cameras but have given up on them being that my pictures are never great. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Have you looked into the Canon Powershot series? Lots to choose from, varying levels of sophistication, good reliable products. I've got an A560, 7.1 MP, enough adjustability for a student, great pix, $149.99 at Staples. Probably get a fleet price if the quantity was sufficient. Just a thought.
I'd definitely go with any of the smaller PowerShots. I initially got my start with a PowerShot and I still keep it tucked in my purse. I got an A580 with a Selphy CP740 photo printer for my mother-in-law for her birthday. She loves it! The whole package was right around $200 at Walmart.
